Alright guys, had to break today because my wife is pretty sick + my personal trainer is M/W/F (yoga T/W/T) so haven't spent as much time as I wanted on the migration.

But a couple hick-ups here and there resulted in 1-2 minutes of downtime as I was bringing up/down new nodes. I now figured out how to get past that downtime by altering a few settings...

So wont' make much more progress today, but tomorrow I plan to make a big push to start testing the app layer running directly on the new servers. That should result in bringing the speed back to normal. With any luck, increasing it over what we have had the last few years.

Then once that is done I will work through some of the small issues, like for instance the Thanks not registering instantly. I need your help to report strange things like that so I can identify the specific query and isolate it from the cache.

If you see any other strange behavior, please do report it here.

Mike

Known issue: When you create post #11 on a page (as I just did, resulting in new page of thread) the redirect doesn't properly take you to the new page on post creation. Have to manually go to new page.

This is another query isolation issue I will add to the list.

Known issue to be fixed: When thanking a post, you don't see your name added immediately. It's there just a display/caching issue.

Mike

Mike, dammit man, you are an animal LOL... I noticed this the other day, verified it on another PC today, was gonna say something, and you're already on top of it and working on three other things you noticed that hardly anyone else noticed LOL...

Just wanted to add to the above mentioned instance: The Thanks registered immediately (see screenshot) but the user name did not appear until after refreshing the page. "FWIW"

Hi Guido, no need to apologize.

In your case, probably the quickest way is to use the "ren" command. Here's the proper syntax:

Code
ren "ES 06-19.7z" "ES 06-19.7z.001"
Since the double quotes were missing, the command line did not know how to interpret where the filenames end.

Let me know how you get on with this.

Hey guys! You asked to report any issues, so here are some minor ones I have been seeing, apologies if you are already aware of these!

- When trying to use the "Insert link" button, the window flashes for a second then disappears.
- When giving "Thanks" for a post, the little black bar that displays who has thanked the post minimizes to half its size, a refresh fixes it usually.
- When uploading a file to post in my journal, the uploaded files don't show up initially, I have to exit the window and click "Attachments" again.

Thanks!

Thank you for your reply.
It appears there is something I can't fix.
Please see attached files.
I have also unistalled downloaded reinstalled the 7z tool as well as the winzip tool, but nothing has changed.
I am wondering whether there is an a alternative way/format to post these files.
thx

I saw the video, you completed the steps correctly, but remember that you must do this for 3 files!

Remember, this is a multi-part download, and so you need to
  • Download the first "ES 06-19.7z" and rename it to "ES 06-19.7z.001"
  • Download the second "ES 06-19.7z" and rename it to "ES 06-19.7z.002"
  • Download the third "ES 06-19.7z" and rename it to "ES 06-19.7z.003"

The three files must be in the same folder and named it as per above before you attempt the extraction.

If FIO had allowed me to upload the files with the original extensions I would have done so. Unfortunately it doesn't, so I have had to resort to renaming multi-part files this way to be able to upload them.

I see.
Once I have the three file renamed, shall I decompress them one by one, or select all three files 001 002 003 and then right click over the selection and select to decompress them all together?
Let me download the other two files and try.
Thank you.

.....

Selected all three files together

I am decompressing, it looks like it is working

Thank you very much!
