Here is one thing about health: Whatever happened to moderate living? The human body can withstand tremendous amount of abuse, just look at Keith Richards or Ozzy, they are close to 70s and still kicking around with all their hard living.

Now if you take the hard living away, and just live a moderate lifestyle, like the Mormons, and you get one of the longest life expectancy in America. Of course if you take all the pleasures away from your life your life will FEEL longer even if it doesn't last.

But my point is, use everything in moderation, and most people should be just fine. Drink one coffee a day, you don't need 6 of it. Meat is fine, but you don't need to eat it 3 meals a day. Sugar, again, just use it sparingly. I hate smokers but even if you smoke 2-3 cigarettes a day, that is probably better for your mental state than the damage what it causes to your lungs... (some of the oldest people were smokers, just for the record)

So instead of trying to discover the newest best thing or the most useful life elixir, just live your life in moderation, be fairly active and don't carry much over weight, the rest will be taken care of, or so says Uncle Ozzy....

Edit: I have just ordered Bacopa mentioned earlier in this thread. For memory enhancement...

Has anyone had any luck cutting out red meats with any decent results?

I encourage you guys to watch this video. It sums up how I feel about health, food intake, doctors, and the massive epidemics of health we see in the modern world. This guy recently built a retreat in Ecuador to boot.

thos shoes tho. might want, might not. not sure. looks like it feels good maybe. distracted me sorry

Thanks though, This really hits home considering all the valid points he makes. I now understand where I went wrong.

I mean yes I've heard the stuff about processed/raw foods for years but the whole combination concept is new to me. For the longest time I was eating meat with bread and sometimes soda which would inevitably lead me to feeling like I wanted to pass out a half hour to an hour later. I didn't realize these foods together tax the body in tandem more so then each individually eaten. That vid alone is worth the forum fee imo

Here are my 2 thoughts on health and foods:

1. Processed foods have been around for decades. People who are dying in their 90s today probably ate processed foods in the last 3-4 decades in their lives and they still made it to 90+.

2. If Keith Richards can make it to 70 with all the drug and alcohol abuse plus smoking and I under 50 have to be afraid of dying of bacon and red meat, then I don't want to live in this kind of world anyway...

(and most people believe in the afterlife so why are they so afraid of dying?)

----------------------------------

Now for the record, I am 6'1" 185 lbs and my weight never fluctuated more than 10 lbs in the last 10 years. I eat a tonloads of bread, and I eat way too much sugar. (I like a little coffee in my sugar) At least I use raw cane sugar...

But generally I am fairly active and genetically blessed I guess, because I don't put on weight, I can and will eat anything. I also try to do what I mentioned earlier, moderation. You can eat everything, but in moderation. My cholesterol was high a year ago and with fish oil I brought it under control (not to mention the whole cholesterol myth). So except back pains due to sport injuries, I am fairly healthy as food intake goes.

I also don't take doctors too seriously. If I have a problem I try to diagnose it by myself (Amazon.com is my favorite help by the way) and I only go to see the doctor if I need a prescription medication. After all most doctors still believe the cholesterol myth and they agree with water fluoridization (most of the world doesn't).

Hi Aquarian1,

Sorry you lost your brother to lung cancer.
I lost my Mom to lung cancer also.

I called the Kushi Institute up, to see if they had any research on curing the kind of lung cancer my Mom had.
They sent me a study about a nurse, who had the same exact lung cancer as my Mom and it had gone into her liver.
She was basically on her death bed.
The family had a macrobiotic counselor come and she tweaked the Macrobiotic diet to her body's needs at that time.
Her family cooked the food and she ate, as much as she could, even if it was only a few bites.
To make a long story short, after 7 years, she was still alive and didn't have any cancer in her body!!!!

I gave this information to my Mom but she decided to go with traditional medicine: chemo and within 9 months of finding out she had cancer, she passed away.

I was my mother's care giver and after looking into macrobiotics, I thought, I would put all the healing foods into a soup just to start getting some good nutrition quickly while I was taking care of my Mom and brought her a bowl of this soup. She grabbed it out of my hands and ate it like an animal over the sink and afterwards, said it was exactly what she needed. My mother at that time, was in a lot of pain, sweating so much a morphine patch wouldn't stay on her skin and she couldn't get a good night sleep. When I checked on her in the morning, she greeted me with a big smile saying, she had a good night sleep, no pain and no sweating. For the next 2 nights, I brought her a bowl of soup with the healing macrobiotic foods in it and each night she had the same positive results.
The 4th morning, I let her know, hey Mom, each night I have brought you a bowl of soup and it had the macrobiotic healing foods in it and each night: no pain, no sweating and a good night sleep. Would you like to look into macrobiotic diet? She said: Stop cooking for me. It was the hardest life lesson to learn: each person chooses how they want to leave this earth. She had me buy hamburgers, ice cream and candy, which I knew was feeding the cancer etc.

I had researched what caused my mother's cancer and a lot of what you have posted I totally agree with you.
In my 30's I learned there were about 20.000 man made chemicals we come in contact with and NO one knows what their interaction does and a lot of those chemicals: are cancer causing. Then I learned about 3 years ago, that now we come in contact with almost 70,000 man made chemicals.....

I found out, I had a basal cell carcinoma and to make a long story short, I cured it naturally by doing the following:
1. remove all chemicals from your home, use Dr. Mercola's air purification system, use a reverse osmosis water purification system (there are some that will put the minerals back into the water, which you need)
2. Eat an organic diet, foods rich in nutritients like macrobiotic or just get those foods into your diet. Do not eat any GMO's
3. I used EFT: emotional freedom technology. Every person I have meet who has heal their cancer, has had some emotional trauma in their past, once they have healed that issue, the healing begins. Concept is: a traumatic event happens and the bodies immune system gets weakened. The body is always fighting off cancer but with the weakened immune system, the cancer begins to take root and grow. Just as we hold emotions or tightness in our muscles, so does the body along the meridian points etc. that flow to our internal organs. That natural flow of energy gets interrupted and that gets the energy stuck or short circuited and then those internal organs do not get what they need energetically, something like chiropractic adjustments, letting energy flow again after an adjustment. So, after I did EFT, like a bunny rabbit for 2 1/2 days, I was taken down the rabbit whole and saw the traumatic event, that I had thought, I had dealt with and healed from, still was giving me some emotional responses. THen while in my office, a memory came up of the traumatic event and I didn't have any emotional response, it was just a memory that no longer had an emotional trigger. Within, 30 days, all the basal cells healed.
Went and got biopsy's and they were no longer cancerous, my doctor told me, I was an enigma.
At that time, I wondered why my Doctor didin't ask how I had healed my basal cells but then I learned, if he was to practice anything other than what the AMA guidelines for traditional medicine are, he would loose the ability to practice medicine.

I also used a couple of products: curaderm which they use in England and Australia for basal cell's but it took me 1 1/2 years to heal mine. Usually it only takes 3 to 6 months.

I also used advanced nano Zeolite: spray and capsule which goes and destroy's rogue cells in the body and also helps alkalize the body.

Currently I am helping a friend, who has stage 4 cancer, I am cooking macrobiotic foods for her and her nausea has stopped, no more night sweats, her energy is returning etc. Soon she will have an appointment with a macrobiotic counselor who will tweak her diet, for her current needs etc.

Here is a link to the Kushi Institute:
Reversing Cancer Diabetes Psoriasis & More - Kushi Institute

Do not wait, till you get sick, to change your diet.
The body needs foods that mother nature has provided, stay away from anything in cans, boxes etc.
Cook your own food in purified water: grains, beans, veggies, seeds, some fruit, fermented foods and eat with the seasons.

Everything I make for my friend, when her husband comes home, each night says, umm, this is good.
Healthy food can taste great also.

Good luck everyone,

Rachel
