1,140 DAYS ?! What's my excuse ? Well all I've got is , one K. Whitney came out with some fancy software that seemed to do every thing but feed you and read you a bed time story , and I was quite intimidated ! When I first came across this whole trading thing in the mid nineties , it was agriculture and metals and if you were smart , you avoided the financials . This is how it ( futures ) was explained to me . Who told me this ? Well , there was this fellow - Ken Roberts , out of Texas and he was offering this course you see ( I can hear laughter now ) - some thing called TWMPUM (?) It's a long story but you've heard the saying " a little knowledge is a dangerous thing " ? Back then it was pen , newspaper and the landline , and you had to learn and use the correct phrases when speaking to the broker ! Folks will chat about " blowing up " their account , but for me , it was basically watching a good sized aircraft struggle down the runway , get a few meters into the air , crash back down , and then just burn and burn at the end of the runway …! - fast forward to 2006 and here in the GTA ( north side of lake Ontario ) REDLIGHT GREENLIGHT was sweeping through - lots of HYPE I knew it as FOREX MADE EASY ( more laughter ? ) But wait !! ….. you'll choke on this : It worked for me !! $1,200 CDN per year and it did what it was supposed to do ! So , what happened ? Well lots happened : between mergers and repeated buy outs , the software being sold off ( as best as I can tell ) , and ( for me ) market conditions changing , I just quietly parted ways with the last broker I was with , and parked everything . My account had been passed around a few times ... Then it was quiet for a while, and then some where around 2014-2015 these new terms began to appear . DOM , PRICE LADDER , ORDER FLOW, and so on. Heck I was just getting a handle on candle sticks , and now this ? lol . I then sort of turned my back on trading but now, I'm curious as to how things are working out with this " new tech." Can I make it work ?

Hey guys,

I traded the first time just for fun with 16 years on a demo account with FX. Somehow I didn't keep to it, though I sometimes during time observed the market like DOW DAX and some others just for getting a feeling.
1,5 years ago (about 6 years later) I started with trading Cryptos where I first blow up my total account during 8 months. Still I followed the market movements of Cryptos.
Some weeks ago I came back to Forex and now switched to Futures, which works best for me so far.
After trading a while on a demo account I now want to open a live account but my application got declined because my total net worth is really small.
I applied for the NinjaTrader Brokerage. So I wanted to ask you guys, if someone knows a FCM that accepts a small net worth and small minimum account balance. The broker should get a direct datafeed from CME like Dorman or I mean the broker should supply the same market as most brokers do.
Should I maybe start an extra thread for this question?

Greetings!

Newbie working in Houston TX. but reside in Manhattan, KS. No I'm not a Jayhawk fan. Oilfield engineer nearing retirement age. A new trading career would allow me to spend more time at home. Would love to be able to work a couple hours a day to keep my mind fresh and keep some revenue coming in the door. Would like to do the learning and feel the pain of learning while I'm still earning an income to cover for my mistakes.

I'm looking forward to the experience on this forum to help me find the right path.

Thanks

BradM

I think you've got the right idea to learn this business while still having an income from another source. I think many people think they can read a book or take a course and suddenly start bringing in $100k or more per year. Of course, much of that expectation is due to the unscrupulous advertising that some people selling books and courses put out there.
This is a great community with people like myself just learning and a lot of more experienced people who are willing to share their experience with anyone who has an open mind and is willing to listen.

Best of luck to you!

Mike

Howzit guys. Been trading for a while. Concentrating mostly on price action, but still learning after 6 years in the game. The learning never stops.
