I'm from the Boston, MA, USA area. I'm new here and new to trading futures. My plan is to trade the ES. I'm currently reading the book Mind over Markets. I have a finance background but it's been over a decade since I used any of that knowledge. So I feel like the noob these days.

I've been doing web development/programming since my heavy focus in finance during my undergraduate years. Perhaps I'll be able to combine both interests once I have some experience.

I'm also a quadriplegic and was injured a little over two decades ago. Are there any traders with disabilities on here? Feel free to PM me.

Hi All,
I've began trading futures in 1973 in Eugene Oregon. The only way then to get any information was to go to the one office in town that had a futures quote board or to call my broker for an update. Using graph paper to make charts from the newspaper was very tedious. Those and the high commissions led me to stop trading after a couple of years.
About 10 years ago, I discovered internet trading and discount brokers. That got me interested again and I made a few trades a year for 3 or 4 years. Then the exchanges decided to charge for real time data. It made no sense to pay $30 a month to trade once every three month, so I bailed out again. Last fall, I discovered CME offered real time top of book data for $3/month. That allowed me to trade from charts on CME, COBT, Nymex and Comex. I also found free real time ICE data on Investing.com. The downside is I have to follow the data on one screen and then make my trades on my platform (CQG desktop). All in all, the commissions and fees are now manageable and the nearly 24 hour markets are a bonus. I have been reading some posts on Futures.io since I started trading again. Today I am signing up as an Elite member and expect to be using the site much more.
Thanks BigMike for creating such a terrific resource.

Hi all,

I am brand new here, but not new to trading. In the past, I have swing traded stock options and Forex, and day traded futures. I really want to learn to day trade futures successfully. I have attended tons of webinars and bought multiple subscriptions, but haven't been able to settle on any one thing. There's so much out there, it's hard to know what actually can work and what is just a gimmick. Just looking for some consistent day trading profits to supplement my income.

Hi there,

It seems I am a member for 1834 days already without posting anything. I think that's a record. LOL
So today is my first post.
I am wondering if there are also daytraders specialised in multiple timeframe trading in combination with sma's and swinglines to determine the ongoing trend in a choosen timeframe.
Perhaps we can share some trade ideas for the NQ and ES.
I spend already a lot of years to build my own strategy and placing a clear "(trail)STOP" was and is still the biggest issue. Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance
