Hello All!

My name is Jimmy and I am from Rogers Arkansas, we say all and the Texans get to say Yall!

Well anyway I have been doing the futures for about a year and am still struggling. I am open to anything at this point.

I have done a lot of reading and like Dr Elder's books a lot.

I have been pondering Dr Barry Burns some but can't make up my mind about him. I am paper trading now and today its the NQ using a 381 tick chart and a 1800 tick chart.

I wished it was real money today, I have been trading within a narrow Linear regression channel, using indicators such as Force Index, DM, BOP, MACD, DMIndex, Momentum,D3SpotterV1, I know there is no Holy Grail, I just need a setup with a couple of indicators that will work together.

But now I'm rambling..

I am a Vietnam Vet and go To NA meetings 5 times a week....And I keep going back..
Just 4 Today!!

Good to be here..

Jimmy AKA w5oy

Finally decided to register to be able to view some of those tantalizing equity curves that have been posted...

I've been voyeuristically following your blog since inception, Mike -- delighted to see things have really taken off.

At present, I use an automated system to trade ES eminis. I have been running it live with a small number of contracts for about 6 months, and plan to do so for at least 1 year before increasing the number of contracts.

Where is it successful?

I am a trader from the bay area and focus on index and currency futures. I have built two auto trading systems now, trading small contracts. They focus on short term mean reversion and volume based logic. I believe that the most important part of a trading system is money management and being able to manage psychology, not trading signals. That is why I create auto trading systems - I have faith in them being able to consistently execute them.

I am looking to understand some of the MM ideas within the site here, and also participate in the discussions on better, newer trading ideas. Ultimately I am going to deploy a set of auto trade systems that seek to compliment a portfolio approach on my trading captial (5 systems is the initial plan). I think this sits better with my risk tolerance - having a portfolio of systems therefore no over reliance or exposure to one single idea or trade pattern......

My story is similar to Big Mike's. I tried several time to be a trader without success. It was only after I got my emotions under control did I stop losing money. Reading Trading in the Zone by Mark Douglas was an eye opening experience. He has rules that help traders' deal with their reaction to the Market.

Hello Mike,

I subscribed user and login some weeks ago but forgot them and I was very busy with official job in life. I'm french. On the french site "www.pro-at.com", I read many specific indicators' scripts for NT, really interesting !

I'm new one in the community of Ninja Trader' users. I like to play with Futures and especially with FDAX, nearly by reading the Super Dome book exclusively. Just charts in UT5 and x ticks with little few indicators take place on my monitor. One of them "OBV and Bollinger Bands" by Sam028 on my demand. He's a better programer than me.

Thank you to allow me to join us.

Best regards.

Norden.
