Good morning everyone!

I have been trading for some years now but I want to introduce myself to the world of futures trading using orderflow, volume profile etc. So very nice to be here!

Before looking for expensive courses etc. I would like to look for free info on the internet to investigate.

Could you recommend books, guides, webpages etc. for me as a beginner regarding orderflow, volume profile etc?

Thanks a lot in advance!

Greetings from Spain

mmreds

Good morning from downunder. In 1962, I started using my employer's mainframe computer for trading US stocks and have never stopped. In 1964, I purchased that computer (for $100,000) when my employer upgraded and placed it in my broker's office. Since then, of course, I have used more modern tools (TradeStation, MetaStock, MT4, VantagePoint AI, etc.).

I use TradeStation for my automated futures trading, doing about 5 trades per day. I use VantagePoint to help me select stocks and options to trade in my IB account.

The last two years have been spent working on systems that "adapt" to the market.

I trade stocks, bonds, futures, currencies and options every day.

I'm not completely new to trading, but I'd consider myself intermediate (breakeven stage). <...>

My plan is to trade 5-10 times a week, no more. I have set hours now and I don't look at charts to trade outside those hours. (I do study charts a lot outside that time.)
I've never blown up an account, but I've never grown one at this point either. I have a lot of work left to do on myself though I have come a long way. I know this is a long introduction, but I hope to learn a lot here as well as help those not as far along on their journey as I, even if it's to share the stupid stuff I've done with a buy/sell button.
Oh, and I am a perfectionist to the core. As a veterinarian, I was trained to get it right most of the time and that has been my biggest struggle. Learning to lose and be okay with it.
Thanks for reading and God bless everyone.

JJ

Jelelg, I recommend you read a book written by an exceptional trader from Alabama, Corey Rosenbloom: "The Complete Trading Course" Corey is now on staff at TheoTrade. As an engineer, I feel your pain and relate to your perfectionist proclivity. Corey is a perfectionist as well. BTW, Corey now lives in LA -- no, not Lower Alabama -- the LA on the Left Coast.

God bless you as well!

Jeff

Welcome, mmreds.

Have a look at the futures.io YouTube channel and look for Jigsaw Trading and NoBSDaytrading on YouTube. No BS Daytrading Course is pretty low cost and his info helped me understand order flow much better when I knew very little about it.

God speed!

Jeff

Good to have you with us, madeharo. Your written English is better than my written Espanol.

I'm new to the forum and I must confess that I am not a Futures trader - I trade equity options. (I hope this does not degrade me in any way! . I figure that I can pick up on some things here that I can use in trading options. Iron sharpens iron after all.
