Looks like a good short is in the air - after oil turmoil of yesterday

edit 14:00 - price +100 forward - hope to see 10250 until end of trade
was time to get out - US was breaking the trend - again - the 10250 are ahead anyway
edit 17:30 - down to 10256 - and some moments after cash closing lower than 10250
looks good what the chart gave - the patterns were instead a bit more on the security side
Anyway - a good result for the normally no longer touched Tuesday. Just because the fact
that normally on Tuesday a straight move is not in sight.

About MARGINS for the DAX future

After having negative oil prices - the brokers are doing the job and want to have more security on their products - in other words the margins.

In this thread the DAX margins are most interesting. They have gone up as always in insecure moments. Today we have such and I will show the actual margins for 2 classes of DAX futures here. It is about the FDAX which multiplies every point with 25. Means gaining one point you get +€25.
The FDXM multiplies with 5. Means gaining one point you get +€5.

What you need to have on your account to get one of those here:



Dont' forget to read about "overnight margin" thoroughly - means 21:40 you get a margin call if your account is insufficient... Could also happen if you haven't closed your trade during the day.

To sum it up: the margins are in times like today quite expensive so that you can trade less contracts than in low volatile periods.
Example: you want to have ONE FDAX overnight - your account needs show today € 27,000. From the second just € 21.500 per contract.

yes exactly - the vola was really strong - and the chart told short.
In these vola days in 30m price moves over 100 points nearly every day.

So I was watching this time closely at the beginning what happens.

Thursday trade

DAX started 9:00 IB with a slight up gap and dropped ~100 points.
Price is in KUMO 30m.
Looks like a nice trade on a Thursday:

Thursday afternoon spikes up are showing that tomorrow Friday's prices might dive.
In the 4h chart the price sits now on top of Kumo.
Might give a wading through south.
Clear view tomorrow on IB 9:00 to 9:30
