I recently watched Ted. I initially stayed away from this movie, because come on... it's obvious crap. But somehow it got good reviews, and I saw an interview by someone (forget now) who mentioned it, and somehow convinced me to watch it...

What a mistake. I mean yes, I laugh a few times, but man it was just stupid.

Normally Marky-Mark is much better than this.

Maybe a good sci-fi story. I did like WarOftheWorlds.

re: Star Trek: Into Darkness

I'm not sure I like another Earth-centric disaster-action story. Too much influence by TDK and the recent Marvel comic book movies. And most of the characters wearing trenchcoats or hoodies. Thought from the last movie they were going to be out in space exploring like the original series. oh well.

Skyfall is pretty good. Good action scenes and the villain was really good IMO, the dude was seriously creepy. Was trying to figure out if they made the guys head bigger with CGI or he just has a really big head. Either way he was good and I liked the big head. Like a lot of movies lately though it was just too long. I didn't get bored, but arse tends to still get a little tired after sitting that long.

***Spoiler alert***

Not so good stuff. Bond gets shot with a high powered rifle and falls off a 200 foot bridge from a moving train and lives? A bit much. At least give him a bullet proof suit made of special material that is indistinguishable from a regular suit, that would have been at least plausible . The villain knew a subway train would be passing by at the exact moment he needed it to drop on Bond's head? Also couldn't understand why the villain was so tired after walking up a little hill at the end. He previously runs for miles through underground tunnels and the subway system, but a little hill is finally just too much for him? Also, he is one of the world's top 6 computer geniuses and he was a field agent previously? I'm sorry, but they woulda had that guy locked in a room somewhere. All minor complaints however.

Daniel Craig is probably the worst James Bond ever. He has the personality of a wet rag. The Bond character has always been witty, charismatic, interesting, likable. This incarnation, is dark, broody, stoic, pouting, dull, not the fun frivolous, interesting guy, every guy wants to be, and every woman wants to be with. I suppose Craig is the perfect actor for this particular Bond role, if that is the character portrayal the writers were going for, because that is the extent of his acting ability. He always has the same frozen facial expression, can't deliver a memorable line to save his life, couldn't act his way out of a paper bag. Out of all the Bond actors, I think he is less then memorable.

Can't wait for the next James Bond incarnation. Somebody mentioned Denzel Washington... Now, that would be an interesting pick, since the writers seem to be redefining the character now. That would be quite interesting, providing he can pull off a British accent, although he is probably too old for the part at this point.

The Oblivion movie looks good because the villains are obviously banksters.

The plausibility level of Skyfall was just about zero but it was great anyway.

Daniel Craig looks like he has what it takes to be a trader. And then some.

He makes Jason Statham look like Rebecca of Sunnybrook Farm.

And Schwarzenegger like Little Debbie.

Hopefully the movie is at least half as good as the trailer.
