Maybe a better choice would be to trade options on the ETF's that track the US indexes like SPY. You should be able to find any number of equities brokers.

Don't quote me but you will be using a Canadian broker trading the US markets?

I don't believe you will be taxed at all according to current law but you need to contact a broker to be sure.
