Seems like Elliot Wave is similar to random lines, except the random lines in Elliot are created real time patterns, u 12345, abc ,, until something works.. Then say see it works...

IMHO, Would seem like the basic technical analysis patterns, come in to play in all trading systems I have seen .. Even market profile has it reaction points/lines based on volume at price,,, then A...
