Depends. My own new backtesting platform that went live some weeks ago uses a micro atx, 16gb ram (waiting for RAM for a 32gb upgrade) and a 3930 that is overclocked at 4ghz per core at full speed....

Rmember to still run a fan. With those amount of power a lot of electronics gets hot. Watercooling or not for the CPU - the RAM and the power regulators want some airflow ;)

CPU usage: less than 20% (!)

Totally not scalable piece of crapware. All...
