So let me restate my question...
"Since neither firm is an FCM .... isn't your risk with the clearing firm...

I have had an account with Mirus/RCG for 4 years....
I have had an account with Mirus/RCG for 4 years.
The rep was nice, not sure what his name was, haven't had to talk to him since setting up the account.
Had a couple of minor support issues...

I've been with Mirus for a while and have never had a problem with them. Their support answers the phone promptly and has always been professional.

I have been with Mirus/RCG for a year. I have no complaints. The few times I called Tech Support , they were very helpful and answered the phones rather quickly. I have had no problems with RCG.
