Sounds like we sell ES options in a similar fashion...wait for a large-ish move in one direction, wait for volatility to inflate and based on context, support or resistance (tough while ES is making...

I use Sierra Chart for charts and data from the TT - Fix adapter. TT stands for Trading Technologies. When I first started with SC/TT-Fix, I built my own ES contract by combining all of the...

I run my own stats. I have a DB that has 322 weeks of data in it.

I use volume profiling and auction market theory for the basis of my market analysis. I have taken daily levels and took them to...

The information you provide is interesting and bears further thought/discussion.

If I were to sell one vertical, 1620/1625 in SPX expiring in 11 days, the credit is .65 ($65) and the margin is...

Yes, 130%...thanks...I actually thought of that after I hit send.

The margin in TOS updates in real time. I'm not sure if/what additional margin they tack on over exchange margin...but right now,...

Thank you for the walk through of the formula Ron, I appreciate it.

Margin on that strike is up from 2984.30 in your example to 3252.00 now and that strike is bid at 2.00. That brings up an...

It's more the latter...there could be weeks where I have nothing expiring and weeks where I have multiple contracts expiring.

I'd like it to be contracts expiring every Friday, but that just...

After I enter, the plan is to either let the contracts expire worthless or, if I take a loss, buy them back for 2X the average entry price.

When I first started, I had a rule that if I could...

Hi Ron,

38 trades. 76% winners...had a rough patch in late February (win % was 85%, took a string of losers). Expectancy was 6 ticks per contract and has dipped down to 4.5 ticks per contract...

The one key for me (and others that I know to be using this strategy) is to be patient and wait for ES to make a move. I definitely find myself frustrated during times of low volatility. There have...

If you are worried a crash, you could always put on credit spreads. You won't get the same premium as naked positions, but the margin will be less, so you could sell more credit spreads...but when...

Hi Ron,

The 1465s were the April WK4 series. They will be off the books at the end of today. I sold them at 14:59 and 15:42 EST on 4/15.

I take the average entry price of my position and then...
