Wasted half hour
ok well I used the suggested clean up tool - and it successfully cleaned up.
.NET was still there and functioning and I could not install the suggested .NET 3.5SP1.
It just kept getting half way...

NT suggestion
Well thanks for all the replies.
I understand it is a core component of Win 7 so you need to use a clean up tool to rip it out - good old Bill Gates, eh?

Uninstalling .NET from Win7
My.NET seems to have screwed up and is causing issues with NT.
Anyone have any experience of uninstalling and reinstalling .NET in Win 7 (64).
It seems I have to use a cleanup tool as microsoft...
