That is a very old post. These days, you should be looking for a 30" 2560x1600, or a 40" 3840x2160.

I believe 24" is the sweet spot for 1920x1080 (or more preferable, 1920x1200).

27" is too big for that resolution, you would want to step to 2560x1440. The sweet spot with price/performance value...
