A little math help here

What is the calculation for a delta neutral hedge against being long in a stock?

ie 5000 shares of AAPL with a put delta of -.15

if delta was -1 then it would require 50 put contracts...

Thanks, it makes sense then if you are looking to flip the contract for profit...or if you buy it OTM and then purchase stock when it becomes ITM...but I still don't see why anybody who wants to buy...

Exactly...so the first guy had a break even of 32 (30 strike plus 2 premium)...whereas after the stock went down and he sold it to you for .50, your break even was lower at 30.50 (30 strike plus .50...
