This thread has kinda changed from the original intent which was a great point.

Indicators have their place but at the same time you have to continualy monitor them to ensure they continue to work...

I think both ways of trading have their place but I do prefer mechanical trading for daytrading. Reason being that I am not fast enough to make decisions and place order in real time during market...

I currently use a rotation strategy that gives me buy sell signals based on strength over a 3 month period.

I buy sell the etf's that have performed best over this time for the following month.
