The 1% rule relates to the amount that you risk on each trade, not your margin..

The distance between your stop and your entry defines the $ risk, and combined with your account size and risk %...

I would echo the sentiments that TF and FDAX are worth considering alongside CL.

For me GC, SI & NG are not quite similar, although NG is the closest.

I find the currencies lack volatility...
