Thanks for your input and recommendations Rani...i am on the cusp of change and am using a sponsored MC with Rithmic from Optimus..

May be a dumb question, but I am at that level when it come to tech..., Are you saying that I have to pay for the Rithmic feed independent of establishing an account with Optimus or is it all included...

It's all right. If I understand you well - the fee for the broker's feed is included in your commission (you do not have to pay anything to Rithmic).
@mattz will respond more accurately for sure

You are 100% correct. We quote our commissions along with the feed prices.
There is no extra for Rithmic.

... In our case most guys who use Ninja, pay 4.0 RT all in, BUT if you trade it via RTrader and use Ninja for analysis we give you 3.75.

Would you care to expand on this statement, as i am having difficulty understanding it?
  1. Does this mean that I can choose to use R/Trader as the DOM/Trading vehicle and at the same time use the feed for NT?
  2. How does this work?
  3. Will I need separate logins for the datafeed to the 2 different platforms?
  4. What platform is then associated with my account? Or is there even an association, as your website seems to imply that there is?

Thanks.

The Rithmic feed could be expanded into multiple machines. You Don't have to pay extra for that and R/Trader is free along with NinjaTrader. You would use the same logins. Some customers choose R/Trader with Ninja, not instead because of the OCO orders that reside on Rithmic's servers. Many still choose Ninja's full version on it's own without anything additional because it appears to be stable and fine with Rithmic.
There seems to be other providers that members choose over Rithmic and you could try them as well.

Hi guys,

Everything else speaks for Crossland/DDT - better TT integration, broader choices of platforms (and feeds as they offer not only TT, but also Rithmic, CQG, etc.) and DDT offered lower commissions as well. Their offer is $ 3.42 RT incl. TT fees as per the website, which I do not pay anyway (meaning the actual quoted commis in my case is a bit lower).

rani

Hi Rani, your posts have been very helpful as I have been trying to do the same thing, using Sierrachart for the DOM/charting. Thanks!

Just curious why you say that you dont have to pay the the TT fees? In any case the TT fees has now increased to 15c from 5c, so in terms of cost both DDT & Velocity are now the same i think.

Hi,

I do have to pay the TT fees, everyone does. What I mean is that I do not pay the commissions as listed on the website - it is possible to negotiate lower based on volume, etc.

thanks Rani for the clarification.

So if I wanted to avoid using IQFeed (as I dont need historical backfill or market depth) and am relying on the broker's feed (Rithmic or TT-FIX as I use Sierrachart) for accurate and fast price charts, do you think TT-Fix will do the job as well as Rithmic?

Also i'm curious for DDT/TT/Sierrachart, if there is no customer portal, how do you check for confirmations on trades done, live P&L update or download statements?

Hi Painkiller82,

There has been done a lot in comparing TT - Fix to Rithmic. I personally think both will do the job well. TT - Fix very much depends on its implementation by the FCM (their servers), where Rithmic does not face this kind of problem (it is direct). I experienced Rithmic to be a little faster, but not that much to make it any difference in my trading or to justify its higher costs. I think TT - API (X_Trader) and CQG are still fastest and most reliable. There might be other factors, which would have influence (i.e. ping time to/from the server, etc.).

There is a customer portal (RanWeb), however it lacks many features of those from some other FCMs. You get daily statements via email or you can download them. For live PL you would have to depend on Sierra...

Regars, Rani

If I decided to join Optimus, would I have to pay a monthly fee to use ninja trader, and a monthly fee for a data feed provider?
