We do support it and help customer with it.
We learn every platform we implement and know technical support of that platform on a first name basis.
I can list other platforms that you mentioned above, but I dont because we dont know them yet.
If we list it, we support it.

Believe me...all the conceivble conditions to learn are available on the beach in Boca Raton...especially at this time of the year

Got a gut feeling that Optimus has their act together....alli need to know is where the segregated funds are held...

the above is an inaccurate statement...

assuming you are quoting ES for $4RT, Velocity Futures (VF) directly without an IB with Ninja/TT is $3.82RT for <2499 contracts, which includes the DOM Fees... which is less than $4RT... they also provide tiered pricing as one changes the volume through out the month, which means lower fees on average.

Advantage futures can quote less than Velocity or even Crossland, and that is with 5K contracts per month or 2500RT.. CTS Futures will be in par with Crossland; MFGlobal will be on par with VFM... and I can go on with comparisons ...

it is a misconception that one has to trade 10K RT to get the better than published rates.. actually, trading 10K per month would reduce quite considerably anyone's FCM transaction costs... and guarantee you quite a number of rebates.. but that is another story...

now, with Vision Financial Markets (VFM), as I stated on my original post, one has to go through an Introducing Broker as they wont deal directly with you for futures... and with them, in this case you(Optimus) is in fact competitively priced as one of their IB..

Intro Brokers have to make their $$$, and their markup is their revenue for providing the customer service; that is not to say their markup is known or should be disclosed.. I more than understand the business model and I am all for it...

IB's have value, and you are very much correct; that value comes from the relationship one develops with the broker. I could have in fact lowered my fees by going directly with Velocity, but I go through VCAP because of my account rep, no other reason. That is not to say that Dale Box is not a good rep, I actually have never spoken with him, but rather that I worked with someone I liked and I dont mind paying the additional 10-20c comms for them to take care of my accounts.

At the same time, the broker is not always the main factor on the equation.. as an example, I like Interactive Brokers, not because of their hand holding (which we all know doesnt exist) but because of their product breadth and platform features. If I wanted to trade only futures, I would say that IBKR is not the best, but if you want to trade anything under the sun, then IBKR is the best.

in the end, it is a personal choice.. but bypassing an Intro Broker can very well get you better rates if the FCM cares to provide you with them.

Very well said. Paul Wilson is a great guy.

Thank you for the above posts Matt

Could you clarify for me the point of historical Ask/Bid Data.
Is there 30 days of the historical Ask/Bid Data available?
Is the data, Rithmic data, meaning it comes very close to the quality of DTN IQ?
I am looking at the comparitive studies that Luke has done here at Big Mike's

Hello everyone and thank you again for the great posts and contents to this thread. I wanted to follow up on the post from @Ben16JP2 regarding the availability of historical Bid/Ask data available through Rithmic. I confirmed that Rithmic does supply 30 days of historical bid/ask data for their supported platforms, but when you connect Rithmic to NinjaTrader, you actually receive up to 2 years of historical bid/ask data which is significantly more than any other platform.
The reason is NinjaTrader provides Rithmic users access to their historical data servers upon connection and NinjaTrader has been collecting bid, ask and last price data for years! They make it available upon certain connections such as Rithmic as a value added service to end users for charting, analysis and backtesting on their platform. To test, I created an ES chart using ‘Ask’ historical data and was able to receive minute bars dating back to March 27, 2009!

The amount of data supplied actually surprised me a little so I decided to test again using the NQ and opened a chart of the ‘Bid’ instead of the ‘Ask’ to verify my results. Same results! I received minute data as far back as March 27th, 2009.

One of the things I’ve always enjoyed about my relationship with NinjaTrader is there added value services. This is one of the only platform provides access to their own historical data servers and makes this available for end users so they can receive additional data that may not be available from their broker. Not to mention its free to access their historical data servers as soon as you setup a Rithmic connection. If you would like to test and see if this data works for you, please let me know and I can send you a 30 day trial of the Rithmic connection for NinjaTrader. You can always access it on my site as well.

Thanks and good trading!

mattz minute data or tick data ?

For the purposes of my charts, I used minute data, but Rithmic offers both historical tick and minute data. Tick data goes back at least 30 days and for some instruments such as the ES, clients should receive anywhere from 45 to 90 day

Hi guys,

as promised, I am back with my choice. As I've stated before, i am using Investor R/T and Updata TraderPro for charting and Sierra Chart's DOM for execution.
In case I was using a Ninjatrader, I would go with a broker on Rithmic feed, simply because of an excellent integration between Ninja and Rithmic. In such a case, my decision will be Optimus / Vision Financial Markets. Optimus has an excellent integration of Rithmic and I would also feel kind of safe with VFM. Matt from Optimus is really a great guy in respect with service and he should be the choice for anyone with this kind of setup.
However I am not using Ninjatrader. I've made a comparison of the Rithmic and TT feeds on Sierra and did not experience any difference in speed, execution, etc. Therefore it makes no sense for me to pay higher fees for Rithmic. I am also trading Eurex contracts, which Rithmic still does not support (at least not via VFM).
So that I've decided to go with TT feed and was choosing between Velocity and Crossland/DDT. Even I liked Velocity's account management much more than RanWeb, it was actually the only advantage for Velocity in my eyes. Everything else speaks for Crossland/DDT - better TT integration, broader choices of platforms (and feeds as they offer not only TT, but also Rithmic, CQG, etc.) and DDT offered lower commissions as well. Their offer is $ 3.42 RT incl. TT fees as per the website, which I do not pay anyway (meaning the actual quoted commis in my case is a bit lower). Last but for sure not least, Howard himself would be the only reason to go with DDT. He did not felt short of Matt from Optimus. He responded to any of my questions within minutes (days, nights and weekends) and the answers were always accurate, helpful and professional. He has even been able to respond on kind of difficult subjects (where others were not even sure what I am talking about). He has helped with the setup and all related matters. This is exactly the kind of service I would expect from a broker.
Only time will tell if my decision for Crossland/DDT was a good one. I certainly hope so. In case you will be interested, I can come back with more experience later.

Have a good trading.

rani

that is in fact one big advantage... I personally wished that Rolfe & Nolan would woke up and upgrade their front end to their backoffice platform.. I mean lots and lots of FCM's out there use RAND for their backoffice, and it really doesnt cost all that much in today $$$ to improve the front end for all those users.

Your choice is a good one, dont doubt yourself.. just make sure to have a backup broker not using TT as part of your Trading Plan, on the Business Continuity section ..

@sysot1t: thanks for your feedback. As I have mentioned in my first post, I was looking for a second broker. I am still keeping my account at IBKR. I would never depend on just one setup
