Hi,

I'd like to get some good foundational information surrounding broker connection types, e.g. patsystems, trading technologies, etc. In other words, what functions do these connections serve, are there differences in reliability, how do the connection types affect my execution speed, etc.

Thanks

OK, the original question was a bit broad.......... please allow me refine it a little

1) If two futures brokers are using the same connection, say TT for example, can there be any differences in data speed or order execution speed between the two?

2) From the link, , it would seem that all orders are executed via TCP/IP, regardless of broker or connection type. I am using Kinetick and NT7. If I am only using my broker for order submission (not data) then from a purely on order execution standpoint it seems that it doesn't matter which broker I use. Am I missing something fundamental here or is this correct? (i.e. broker choice is only a function of commission, professionalism and customer service when using a seperate data feed)

Thanks

Hello Ares,

from what i have read elsewhere it seems there might be difference between brokers. this thread at elite trader for example certainly suggests that TT can vary depending on your brokers infrastructure

SORRY - can't post links cos this is my first post. suggest you google "forums Ninja + Zenfire vs Ninja + TT feed" for elite trader forum thread and look for post on page4 by PocketChange.

when i was researching this issue i found the best way to get reliable info was to contact Trading Technologies,
Zen Fire etc direct they are a little suprised to be getting these kind of questions from retail traders but i found them both very helpful eventually

hope this is some small help
