It shouldn't come as a surprise, but @mattz has yet another satisfied customer. After experiencing issues again with IB this week I decided to look around for a second broker and platform to split my trading across. Matt and I had spoken about a month ago about Sierra + CTS, but it just wasn't the right platform for my simple trading style. I also require Mac, PC and mobile support. He didn't pressure me at all at the time which was appreciated, and he has such a good reputation on the forum. Anyway, this week when I sent him a quick PM about his CQG suggestion in our other thread he called me on the phone almost immediately. The entire setup process this week has gone smoothly and he's been incredibly responsive, well into the evenings even. Looking forward to the ongoing relationship.

Same here @teajay. Glad that you were able to find something you are comfortable with and all hooked up well.
We also look forward to a long and fruitful relationship.

Optimus Futures has an extremely unique approach to customer support hard to come by in this industry, a great brokerage firm to build a long term relationship with. Whenever I've come to Matt with questions about a charting platforms & data providers, he took the time to explain the pros and cons of multiple options in detail to make sure that I had the best tools to trade with.

Great choice of platforms, data-feeds, and very competitive commissions designed to keep your business. Customer service is the best. Having left NinjaTrader, I went to Optimus Futures and chose SierraChart for charting & data-feed, combining it with CTS execution via the low-cost connection that Sierra have with CTS, using Wedbush for FCM/clearing. I believe this combination is the best in the industry for the self-directed retail trader. Give Matt a call!

How do speeds compare between NT using CQG and your connection at Optimus using Sierra Chart ? Is it comparable and or better for scalping ?
Regards and good luck.

I never used NT8 because I was running NT7 at 100ms chart update interval (the fastest you can set it). When NT8 came out they fixed the chart refresh data at 250ms (i.e. slower than NT7). The one time I gave NT8 a demo try, putting the charts next to a DOM, the charts were like a slug compared to the 'bopping' price of the DOM. From that day on, I stayed with NT7. When I switched to SC with SC's datafeed in early 2018 I did compare it side by side with NT7 and CQG for a while. I wouldn't say there was a massive difference in speed but overall I'm happier with the speed and reliability of the SC/SC feed combo. Unlike NT you can set the chart update interval as low as you like in SC and even customize it per symbol. So if you have a super fast computer you can set a very low chart update interval. I set mine to 50ms which is five times faster than NT8 at 250ms. The biggest thing for me about the feed is how reliable the SC feed it and how there's never any issue getting instant historical data (I always had issues with the FTSE, Z, symbol with CQG). I know SC works with feeds like CQG & others, but honestly, without wanting to be overly technical my attitude on that is that the SC data-feed is expressly built for the SC charting program and I never, ever, have a problem with it. It just works. With Optimus I use the advanced low cost connection to CTS and Matt at Optimus makes sure his commissions are where they need to be. Like for like, it's my view that the SC-SC datafeed-CTS Advanced Low Cost Connection at Optimus is the best combo on the market for the retail trader. I was amazed at how good SC is.

I recently changed my broker to Optimus and I must say that so far the experience has been excellent! The real differentiator for me is @mattz. He's a very genuine guy, straight talking, knowledgable and most importantly generous with his time. After understanding my trading and giving me opportunity to demo a few different platforms, we worked out a deal. Everything regarding setup was efficient and professional. Since going live with them, @mattz has stayed in constant touch, even out of hours and on weekends. I feel like he cares about my success and I like the idea that he is in my corner. I've had a few occasions where I've required support and @mattz responds in a flash, not with auto-reply but with a considered real response which solves the problem! Legend.

I have to say.. Matt Z is a guy who cares and emphasizes risk. I have been with Matt 4+ years and for sure this comes up so many times.. yes everyone is in this business to make money.. but its good to be with someone who also advises on risk.. recent episode was were i wanted some products enabled and for my account size, he spoke with the FCM and then advised me to take on less risk.. so this combination of the right FCM, right broker and getting proper advice is certainly valuable..

So in this time where funds, traders are blowing up with energies.. whether outrights or spreads.. i think its important to have that discussion with your broker who not only tells you but is streadfast in NOT allowing u to take on too much risk.. and advises against huge naked option selling type portfolios

btw im just a regular guy and you can reach out to me if you like.. not here for any paid promotions

thanks Matt
