I am running a VPS and a home PC with 2 paid data streams, with Rhithmic using Ninja8 latest platform. I stared 10 days ago with the company "ChartVPS", testing on SIM. After 10 days of stability, where the two platforms mirror each other, I now have a situation with the VPS based platform and would value feedback from someone experienced in this area.
I am in SIM on both platforms. On the VPS, last night, the data connection within NT8 was lost twice, at least, while my own PC had no issues. On both VPS and home, the NT platform remained up and stable, but the data within NT disconnected.
I saw it repeat live just a few minutes ago. VPS based Rhithmic data dropped out for about 5 secs, but my home PC (with NT 8 running) has no disconnects and my home internet is not that great..
This is not a cheap outfit $70/month subscription. Xeon Quad-Core 9.6GHz CPU (4 cores x 2.4Ghz) 8Ram. Chicago data location. Maintenance occurs only on weekends.
Am waiting for the VPS company to get back to me, but would be keen to hear from FIO members, as this does not inspire confidence.
Thank you

In checking their web site for 10 seconds you can easily see that it's a generic web hosting provider with added "trading" and "charts" to get new prospects but who are not qualified for critical apps which have to run 24/7.
A network glitch is not a big deal for a web server, it's not the case for trading software...
From what I read on their web site they simply resell VPS from other providers, I don't think you'll get a lot of details about this network problem. When you can get such low prices as a re-seller you get even lower prices from the original provider (the one who owns and managed the machines and the network) and in this case the SLA (when there is one) and the support is in line (so not fast nor good).
Just cancelled a “ChartVPS” day Trader VPS because we had this issue where time kept resetting to GMT From CST which makes tradestation recalculate strategies/ not recognize its own strategy orders and it ended up costing me some money. I gave them several chances to fix it but they never could . So I guess I’m in the market for a new VPS now
