Go for degiro.eu. they offer the lowest rates. For most common etfs and funds the first transaction per month is free at least here in the netherlands. Otherwise wait for tastyworks to become available for overseas accounts later this month or check tradestation (per trade option)

It looks like degiro.eu only allows to enter orders through their proprietary web I/F ?

@Mlok, what are the most important function/features that you need in a platform? Maybe I could recommend a few?

Thanks,

Thanks for reply! I really apriciate help you guys provide

So far I am doing this: I run all my analysis on Ninjatrader 8, but I have just free version (simulation) and I get free realtime data in it. Most of the time I really do a simulation, I am watching my idnicators, charts, I run my own statiscis. But when I see the circumstances and signals and I want to trade, I cannot. Yeah, it would be awesome if I had lifetime license, but I dont. 1000 dollars is big money for me. My idea is to earn them first, which sure will be hard thing. I would be quite happy with Ninjatrader 8 platform with chart thrader working and ATM trailing stops and so on.

Anyway at this moment I do things manually. When I se a good opportunity, I log on my other "platform", which is just a webpage, which deosnt and even couldnt show me real time data. I go for limit order or market order, write down the numbers into a pop-up small window - and then I actually see that Ninjatrader is showing me real thing, because regarless of what my other "platform" show me, my order usually get fill. Then I do similar simulated trade on Ninjatrader, just to keep track on things, to see where am I and how far away I am from my entry, + - a couple of ticks. I have my web browser window ready to manually exit trade, because my current web "platform" is not able to do linked orders. Well I can place a stop loss order and usually I do, but it is just and failsafe stoploss very far away. In a situation I place a profit target order and a stoplos order and market gets volitale, they both will be filled, one doesnt cancel the other

It would be awesome if my other platform for executions would be able to do trailing stoplos, linked orders together like in Ninja, so if my target is filled, stoplos gets canceled, or if I could go "flat" somehow and exist everything, or place stoploss automaticly at certain ammount of ticks below my main order.

I know you guys will laugh, but come on, not that long ago people would do these orders by phone, or ICQ message to broker. I dont think it is such an inpossible thing to do. In my dayjob I am responsible for printing tens of thousand invoinces each week, each and every one have to have correct numbers, adreesses, IDs, if I missclick it could be a disaster, trading manualy is comaparable to what I do every day.

I am sorry, but this is not a way to trade. Any platform that you trade on and execute needs to give you real-time data and real-time account balance.

So you have a choice:
1) Buy the platform you want to trade on. You risk a lot more trading blind.
2) Use Multicharts.Net which could be provided for free. It has the features you are looking for and specified below. [yt]https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLOGjoJXp0cmo5ZwpjuFnTUKGa3iIK2Ycj[/yt]

I do not see anything good coming out of the way you execute now due to fills, reporting, etc.

Thanks,
Matt Z

Yeah, thanks for concern. I know that my way is not optimal. But there is another reason for it. I am in a trading for about half of the year and I wanted to try live trading. To feel how is it like. Everyone was talking about how brutal it can be and how is it hard on psyche. Well it doesnt seem to be hard at all for a newcommer! Sim was easy, almost trivial. Heat and pain I took in real trades was great motivator that really pushed me forward and now I feel much closer to the point where I can get trully serious

I understand that you need to start somewhere, but if you decided to go live trading you should do it right.
You can't be "creative" with execution and the minimal you require is real time reporting of your positions.
It would be comforting for you to know that the successful traders that I come across do not require features that beginner trader think they may need.

Lastly, "Sim" for the most part is not a reference for real trading. The transition is always hard.

These points are so valid it pains me.

I think I will just go and buy a lifetime licence on Ninjatrader 8. I am wokring on that platform all the time, doing all my research, all my testing and statistics. Its a way of least resistance for me. I also like BookMap a lot, great idea, but I am not sure if transition to new platform would do me any good. But then, if I decide that I would like to go for lifetime licence, should I go for multibroker one? Doest it pay off? Can I upgrade it later? Maybe I should anwser this question myself and search for all terms and offers of supported brokers.

Damn, I should see a platform license as asset of my "company", not as a huge expenditure.

Anyway, I am also very happy with Degiro commisions. DAX is very cheap compared to what I have now. I will explore that broker possibilities futher.
