I work with TradeStation directly, but I do not do stocks. From what I know TS works with FCM360 Joins with TradeStation | FCM360.COM If you have programmed with your method this could be a solution. Since you are trading from Europe, you need to decide what is the cause of the issue as you may experience the same with another USA broker. TS is a rock solid platform, try to reach out to your rep to see what data settings you have.

Kind regards,

Cool. Like I said, they might have different settings for their streaming data, so figure out which is best for you.
Good luck!

Hi,

I'm from italy and a new Tradestation customer and I'm not currently happy with them so I'm looking for a new broker/data/platform to trade USA stocks.
I work on fast timeframes so i need something tha can be stable on fast market, fast in execution and so on....

any advice will be welcomed
thanks

Depends what you need on your charts.

Sierra charts has been a surprisingly good platform for me. Bit of a learning curve at the start but it has unbelievably great documentation so everything can be searched for to work anything out. Super lightweight on your system resources and personally have never run into any issues with it freezing, delaying data or executing and getting fills on entries like I have recently with some platforms.

I started using Sierra Charts as a stop gap until other platform is upgraded and it has been solid as a rock. Has a great range of indicators covering Volume at Price, TPO, numbers bars, standard indicators and so on. It really is a overlooked platform and relatively cheap for what its able to do. You can run multiple instances of it on the same computer also.

I haven't even scratched the surface of what can be done with it, from accounts it is a very versatile platform.
If you do give it a go, stick with it for at least a month of use and everything starts to fit and feel right in the way its laid out in the user interface. It has a few idiosyncrasies with the naming of certain things differently to other platforms but when you read the documentation its because they use the correct terminology.

Have started scalping with it recently and its been great getting in and out quickly even with being international from the exchange.

Downside - it doesn't have the huge range of outside/3rd party indicators to pick and choose from like NT but to be honest, they have pretty much all the bases covered already inbuilt with Sierra Charts. There are still plenty of 3rd party options with Sierra though that fill in any gaps.

Running IQFeed and CQG with SC if that's any help. They also have some deal for data they provide I think through them but I have not personally tried it.

I use and very much love this configuration: NinjaTrader, IQFeed for data, Interactive Brokers which won Barron's top spot for best broker 4 years in a row now.

Yes absolutely it is. And awesome acct security too from IB. Every other broker I have had AMP, Dorman, S5T, Infinity, ScottTrade, Penson, KCG Futures, can't remember anymore....lol... all had next to nothing compared to IB's security.

NinjaTrader works with IB well and many other brokers not just Ninja's own broker.....

Hey Ron,

Would you be able to elaborate on account security please? What makes acct security good or bad in your view?

Hey there how are you?

IB has security devices as they call them. They have a number of levels of these devices as well not sure about all of them but as you go down the list they increase in security. I have had three different kinds with them. First was a plastic credit card size "device" with approximately 230 codes on the front and back total all numbered. When you login in to your acct they ask you for two of these codes. For example 3 and 176 and you have to find 3 and enter its code then 176 and its code. Next one was a credit card size again in all dimensions but electronic with a tiny screen and keys, again you enter the code and it returns a number in which you enter to complete the login. Currently I have an app on this iPhone that works two ways. Because NinjaTrader uses IB's TraderWorkStation (TWS) 944 and IB is on something like 955 once the app is open you enter the code the login process produces then supply finger print verification once done the app returns a code which you then enter to complete login. When logging in to the latest TWS version the login process sends you a text with a link. Once clicked it launches IB security app it asks for finger print verification once excepted the login process is complete. Logging in to IB's website acct management also works as the last example. These last two the electronic card and iPhone app, as I understand them from testing them, produce a ever changing code based off something like time or something and some algorithm. So you need username, password and this constantly changing code.

To me this is good acct security. All the other brokers I had just had a simple username and password nothing else.

Am I correct in saying that in order to trade futures I need the following:
1. Pay for a platform such as ninja trader. $900
2. Pay for a data feed. $50 to register and then $78 per month.
3. Pay IB a monthly fee (How do they fit into this picture? Im paying for a platform and datafeed already)
4. Buy a 'proper' VSA indicator because the standard ones are pointless. Dont know how much I imagine about $500?
5. $100 subscription to this site

What other costs are involved to get properly setup?

No. You can trade futures with other platforms without having to purchase them. I use one by paying a monthly fee of 40 USD
2. Pay for a data feed. $50 to register and then $78 per month.
Data feed is exchange dependent. If you trade CME only products you should pay no more than 15 USD/month.
3. Pay IB a monthly fee (How do they fit into this picture? Im paying for a platform and datafeed already)
Not sure about IB arrangements
4. Buy a 'proper' VSA indicator because the standard ones are pointless. Dont know how much I imagine about $500?
Don't know what that is
5. $100 subscription to this site

In general the other cost (which is not really a cost) is funding the account. But the regular charges are the monthly data fees and commission costs, plus any platform cost you may have

My answers above
