Hi, I've been looking into news feeds that give real-time events and happenings that affect the financial markets.

I've been mostly lurking on this question but have now started actively searching out feeds.

There are a few threads on the forums that have some stuff as well so I'd like to reference them.

So, for starters here's some threads I've found:

Real-time market/economic news feeds question
What are the best twitter news feeds to follow?
Any interesting traders to follow on twitter or on blogs?
Looking for a good live audio news feed, Any suggestions?

Some Links I've found (from the above links and elsewhere):

Bloomberg Television: Live TV - Bloomberg
Bloomberg Radio - Bloomberg
RANsquawk - Real-time Analysis & News Ltd
RTT NewsStream, Real-Time Streaming News ? RTTNews
News Viewer - MarketWatch
Financial Juice
Sigma Squawk
NewsStrike.com
TradeTheNews.com - Available to Stage 5 members at a discount

I know there a lot of folks who use twitter:

I know there is one software out there that has been mentioned that concentrates tweets, but I can't find the reference. Perhaps somebody will supply.

Traders/Sources to follow on twitter:
I know that @FuturesTrader71, hashtag #FT71 is one. He's also a listed vendor here and even has a wiki page.

This is an incomplete list but a start. If anybody is willing or knows of additional references please update.

Seems like this question comes up frequently enough as we get new users (of which I'm one) and start looking for info on this topic.

Thanks all

Blessings & Good Trades

There was a discussion in the ES Spoo-nalysis thread starting about post498680

That thread prompted me to try and consolidate some stuff that I was finding.

Hope this helps everyone

Greg,

It is interesting that you happened to bring this up right now. We have just finished working out a fantastic deal on my favorite real time news squawk and research feed this week. We launched to Stage 5 members, but you are welcome to give the trial a shot. I have tried them all and S5-TTN is superior, in my opinion.

Here is the link to try it out: Stage 5 - S5 TradeTheNews

Sounds good, can you say how much it costs when you go live? I'm still pinching pennies here. If needful for privacy reasons, would you please PM me?

Thank you for responding.

Can you specify what kind of instrument you want to trade with the news? because I have spent months researching all the different new feeds and what ones are the best. If you want realtime instant news feeds to make a snap decision on a trade then there are only a handful any good. If your a swing trader there are tons of them. If your trading futures or forex off the news I cant help you.

For myself, I'm looking for something that is mostly quiet (no inane chatter to fill the air) and alerts me to breaking news when it happens. Not 'up to the second' as I'll never be able to react that fast, but 'up to the minute' or so. If it's much older than that, I'll have found it by then as it will be obvious that something happened and the free news services will have something.

Additionally, the provider should maintain a recent events (most recent to older) list that one can click on and get further information should they desire. And a decent calendar would be good. The free sites are fair, but I have to visit a number of them it seems.

I don't like the endlessly repeating talking heads and certainly don't like ads which talk.

It's my feeling that news which affects the financial markets almost always affects them all, no matter where in the world the event occurred.

For the main purpose of this thread, however, I'm hoping to gather a good collection of what's out there so please feel free to share your entire collection of news sources and comment what you liked and did not like on them.

Thanks for asking,

Blessings & Good Trades

You still didn't mention what you wanted to trade so I will just put out there the best two stock trading news sites for up to the second instant news with all the best filters you can add or remove. The first is my favorite but at a minimum cost about $139 a month called Equity feed which has a nice 1 or two week trial that is free and easy to sign up for. The other is one by Aquire Media called News edge 8 that is a bit cheaper but you have to call them and talk to a salesman to get the free trial. If your cheap like me open a TD Amertrade account and click on the live news feed on the main page and you will get everything free but you cant filter it that well like you can with the paid sites.

Quantismo.

please click the thanks button if you found this helpful.
