I quite like TD Ameritrade. Their equities commissions are high, but their prices for futures aren't too bad, considering think or swim is free and constantly being developed and improved. I have an AMP account, but decided to hold on the money and join TopStep and do a few combines instead of going live. Knowing what I know now, I would probably go with NinjaBrokerage instead of AMP. They seem to run an easier operation, and I think it's a good thing their margin is slightly higher and they ask for more to open an account.
I've always found their support excellent. I've probably contacted them 20 times, some technical related and some account questions related, and they've always been very helpful. On the technical issues they've corrected the problem right away. I've talked to a bunch of different folks in support so from my experience it's not one or two guys.
I do agree that offering such low margins is a bit concerning, but then again I only have margin requirements, plus a cushion, with them, not all of my trading capital available.
