Hi guys,

Anthony Giacomin, Managing Partner at Stage 5 Trading Corp, will be monitoring this thread for any questions related to Stage 5 Trading Brokerage.

Please keep in mind that some customer service/technical support issues are best handled through proper channels.

Anthony has been in the business since 1999, previously with Infinity Futures and then VanKar, before ultimately starting his own brokerage "Stage 5" with Morad Askar (better known as @FuturesTrader71 ). He's held positions at the Eurex Exchange and the United States Futures Exchange, and his education background includes a Bachelor of Science degree from Illinois State University with a Major in Finance and a Minor in Economics.

In addition to this thread, I will also be asking Anthony to stop by on occasion for a casual webinar where he can answer questions via audio while also sharing his screen to visually demonstrate any points as needed. The date/time of those sessions will be announced here in this thread. These sessions will be limited to questions only, there is no prepared presentation. After the session ends, the recording will be posted in this thread.

You can find more on Stage 5's website:
Stage 5 - Home

Feel free to ask any questions below and we'll do our best to get them answered.

The futures.io (formerly BMT) "AMA" (Ask Me Anything) series is by invitation only. The purpose of the thread is to provide easy access for forum members to engage with the service providers in the industry. Stage 5 Trading Corp is also a futures.io (formerly BMT) site sponsor.

Anthony Giacomin's futures.io (formerly BMT) username is @Stage5 Anthony if you want to mention him or send him a private message.

To get us started, here is the first question. @OpalDragon earlier today in the recent FT71 webinar thread:

He asked whether or not it was possible to download the Stage 5 Trade Analyzer that was used by @FuturesTrader71 in the last webinar. I assume he meant as a non-S5 client.

Great question and thanks for sharing it on this thread @Big Mike! The S5 Trade Analyzer was developed by @FT71 and Stage 5 Trading so that traders can use the tool to hopefully help refine their trading strategies. We feel that the S5 Trade Analyzer helps traders highlight areas of weakness or strength by providing insight on traders executions. We feel that the theoretical average in the S5 Trade Analyzer is helpful when a trader is trading around a position, or scalping. For example, if a trader enters a trade with a long bias the theoretical average will allow the trader to visualize what his/her break even price is (not inclusive of fees - exchange, NFA, clearing) as the trader scales around the overall position. Positive scaling around a position, if done properly, is expected to favorably move the theoretical average away from the initial entry price to provide some cushion for the trade.

@OpalDragon - Unfortunately, the S5 Trade Analyzer is not available for purchase. It is free for traders who are members of the Stage 5 Trading Community. To become a member all you have to do is move your brokerage account to Stage 5. The S5 Trade Analyzer has been compatible with the S5 Trader for a while, but we developed it to be compatible with NinjaTrader so that more traders would have access to it. Stage 5 offers brokerage for NinjaTrader software through the CQG, Rithmic, and Continuum data feeds depending on a trader's needs. We also feel that the community environment of Stage 5 offers more value to traders using the S5 Trade Analyzer since FT is able to interact with traders via the chat room, webinars, homework sessions, etc about risk management and other trade related topics. Also, we have been quite impressed with the amount of work we have seen Stage 5 Traders sharing with regards to their statistics and studies.

I hope this helps. Please feel free to inquire directly for any questions you may have or how we can potentially help you fulfill your brokerage goals! Stage 5 - Contact

If I am a leasing member,, do I have to trade over 2000 per month?
If I trade 20 a day, 400 a month,, then 325/400 + 0.93 = 1.7425 per round.. ,, might lower current fee up to 50%.
Is the above right?
Thanks

Hi @steelchueh,

This is a great question. I just had a meeting with @FT71 to go over the membership spreadsheet to analyze multiple scenarios where traders may benefit. The good news for traders who execute 200 round turns per month the lowest cost structure is being a Non-Member! The reason this is the case is because if you become a Leasing Member traders have to pay the $2,000 up front application fee and then the monthly lease fee (As of today, 10/24/2104, the CME shows the current costs of IOM leases are $325 per month). These additional fees would raise the total cost per round turn.

Let's look at an example. Currently, Non-Members pay $2.32 per round turn in exchange and NFA fees to trade the ES, YM, or NQ. $2.32 will be our constant as it doesn't change for Non-Members.

To Lease and IOM membership the trader would currently pay:

First Year Costs

$2,000 as a one time application fee
$325 per month to lease the membership
$325 * 12 = $3,900 to lease for a year
$0.42 Clearing Fee per round turn
$0.51 Globex Fee Per round turn
$0.42+$0.51 = $0.93 Total Fees paid per round turn
200 Round Turns per Month = 2,400 round turns per year

Total Year 1:

$2,000 + $3,900 + ($0.93 * 2,400) = $8,132 / 2,400 RT = $3.39 per round turn in costs for traders who Lease an IOM vs. $2.32 for Non-Members

Total Year 3:

Let's look at what our costs would be as a leased member 3 years into the program when we have had more time to absorb the $2,000 up front application fee. Assuming the monthly lease fee stays constant at $325 a month, the numbers for this calculation stay the same as above except the annual volume and annual lease fees are multiplied by 3.

$2,000 + ($3,900 * 3) + (($0.93 * (2,400 * 3)) = $20,396 / (2,400 * 3) = $2.83 per round turn in costs for traders who Lease an IOM vs. $2.32 for Non-Members

The break even for a trader calculating off the first year of costs would be 354 round turns per month.

One thing to consider with memberships as we move forward into 2015 is that the CME classifies a trader as a professional if they have a membership. As the CME moves towards charging traders for CME market data the difference between a professional trader and a non-pro classification can be substantial. A non-pro will be able to get Level II market data for the CME, CBOT, NYMEX, and COMEX for a total of $15 per month. This is $5 per exchange with a break for all at $15.

Professional traders are going to have to pay $85 per exchange for Level II market data. Professionally designated traders who subscribe to all the same exchanges as mentioned above would pay $85 * 4 = $340 per month vs $15 for the Non-Pro. This is a difference of $325 per month. Please keep these thoughts in mind as you analyze the best solutions available.

I hope this helps. Please feel free to contact me should you have any questions about anything or if we can help with anything in addition. Stage 5 - Contact

Have a great weekend.

Best,
Anthony

Thanks so much for the info.
I have seen the webinar FT71 presented, the way he trade is quite fast very similar to mine currently experimenting.
That might have a number of trades up to 30 or 40 in a short time,, my issue is that my MFE and MAE is not in a large ratio, so the fees take a lot of portion for the profit.
I know some pro guys trade for securities,, their commissions is even negative,,...
will you or FT71 trading by leasing a member? Thks.

Is there a way for me to download some market data for the replay function.

I want to download some opens so I can trade them..

I cant record data as most of the time if I can be at the computer during good market hours I will trade it not record it.

So im asking if you have any downloadable market data you could share? Or do you know of anyone who can?

Many thanks

Hello.
I have been trading for some time but I have had consistent runs and more so inconsistent runs.
I was with Mirius, then they went down and I was also with PFG and lost my account when they went under. Read lame.

Without being obtuse what assurances can we know or see that Stage5 won't suffer similar? I apologize if this seems rude, but I been thru 2 different 'reputable' brokers that went under.

My Mirius accounts were absorbed (not sure if thats the terminology) by the Ninja trader brokerage. My clearing house is with Dorman. I also have small TOS, MB and FXCM accounts.

What kind of benefits would one gain from switching to Stage5? Over my current Ninja brokerage.

I was satisfied with Mirius till I noted I was getting slipped big at the end when they knew they were going under and having trouble with orders (unbeknowest to me ). Initially I thought it was just holiday volume. Then I began digging and found on a board they were going under. They did not notify us the customers and I took some losses due to slippage on both sides of a formerly disciplined and profitable scalp system. Very lame.

I am Highly interested in Volume profiling, I have read and watched some videos on it. It seems like a large endeavor, after so much invested in price action I want to invest the long effort and energy, but am mixed on where to start. I have scoured some threads here on bmt, watched various videos and some videos with ft71.

Does Stage5 or other offer training? Software? Etc?
Specifically on volume profiling and related? I am a part time trader that can relegate several hours of prep time, then for the trading day can watch some of the premarket and first 1to2hours half the week and up to lunch the other half.

There seems to be a lot of various users on volume and market profiling but I'm having a hard time navigating it.
I like the visual of volume profiling vs the material I've seen on market profiling. Specifically the hvn, lvn, vpoc, and vca.
I do not know what software to use and was planning on trying the gomi stuff for ninjatrader and use the trial with OrderFlowAnalytics, likely to go with them as I liked their footprint chart, the volume clusters, they also had training and I think a trading room. The con is they are pricey and I am trying to differentiate the diffeeence between them and free stuff like gomis work.

Initially I was planning on using volume profiling to back up my scalping to detect vpoc and hvn, using it as a sort of support and resistance to use as confluence as well as good and bad stop loss points. But this was going to be done through long experimentation and backtesting and observation. But I really want to and am willing to learn to put the work in to understand it if that's what it takes. I don't see this as an easy route, but a long disciplined road.

Thanks for your time and consideration.
