What lead you to think that? I've just started to use CQG/AMP with Multicharts and there is definitely a difference when I compare it to IQ-feed when using tick based charts. The time based charts seem to be identical. When I load up a range bar chart using CGQ there seems to be tiny gaps between the candles, which is something I don't get with IQ-feed when I compare.

Can anyone explain this?

There are different ways to create range bars. I assume Multicharts has options because it's an advanced platform but I haven't used it.

Sierra Charts has documented the different ways standard range bars can be created and how different each is.

Other users say that CQG is now working great with MC.

I have to agree since the last upgrade of MC version 9 the CQG connection is now rock solid. I wish I had the option to use Rithmic, but they do not support Sydney Futures exchange which is what I was after.

I'm using Sierra with CQG FIX (with AMP) and am not able to load historical data even though SC data feed support is enabled in the data/trade service settings. For some reason, it is not loading data before October 2015.

Do I need to enable something?

Look at the bright side!

Deleting the data files and reloading solved the problem.

I am looking at using SierraChart with CQG FIX for trading a mix of forex/us futures and HSI (HKFE / HKEX).

One question that confused the support person I asked.

I trade HSI primarily so that's where I want the lowest latency. So I need my login from Australia to be on the CQG Hong Kong server (150ms) not to a Chicago Server & then bounced back to HK (300+ms). A login to a Sydney server should have similar results. Does anyone know if I'll connect direct Australia <--> Hong Kong HKEX?

The question is whether you can connect to Australia directly with CQG? If you are a customer in the USA than the risk goes through Chicago (as far as I know).

Thanks for the reply but the question isn't about where 'risk' goes but rather how AMP/CQG connects the end user to the exchange. I avoid the term routing (even though its correct) because the broking community uses it for a different purpose.

Does a non-US user get connected to a US CQG server or does she get connected to the one that will give the fastest connection to the traded exchange? I assume that an Australian customer, primarily trading Asia, will be connected (internet term routed) to either Sydney or the HK server directly. Accounting issues (who is the customer's broker etc) should be an overlay on the more important real time question of how are data & orders transmitted between user & exchange.

AUS <--> HK is 150 ms

AUS <--> US <--> HK is probably 350-400 ms

Whereas IB provides a direct connection to the HK collocated server.
