Zenfire no more?

Notice - Zenfire will no longer be supported at AMP Global Clearing - December 18, 2013

It has become public knowledge that Rithmic has cancelled their contract with Zenfire: Forums - Rithmic Announces Nonrenewal of Zen-Fire Use

We have not been provided any trading infrastructure architecture on Zenfire without Rithmic, so we have no idea what the effect will be.

We have not been provided any details on the specific date the Zenfire connection will suddenly not be able to connect; which in our opinion is exposing our customers to undue risk of being in an open trade when the connection is disabled.

This has all come to our attention within the past few weeks. Limited information has been provided to us or we would have provided notice sooner to our customers.

We apologize for this situation it is completely out of our control.

It is our suggestion you switch to either CQG or the AMP/TTnet data feed if you are using NinjaTrader as soon as possible.

Please follow the steps below to convert your existing NinjaTrader License key and connection to CQG.

In order to help minimize any unexpected changes, we have licensed the Rithmic data feed directly and you can seamlessly convert your Zenfire connection to Rithmic 01: Rithmic (DTTS) - Direct to the Source | Trading Platforms | AMP Futures | AMP Clearing - Rithmic (DTTS) - Direct to the Source | AMPFutures | AMP Clearing

If you are using any of these Rithmic platforms, please email TDM@ampclearing.com your account number and state "Please convert my Zenfire connection to Rithmic".

Again, we do apologize for this sudden situation and we will work diligently to make any necessary changes for you, so the least amount of impact on your trading as possible.

■ On January 5th, 2014 - 4:45 pm CT (5:45 pm ET) Mirus Futures sends a ZenFire Status Update to its clients. (https://www.mirusfutures.com/emails/Client_ZenFire_Update_1.5.14.htm)

□ ZenFire connectivity has stabilized and is available for live trading as of Sunday, January 5th.
□ Although not expected, instances of intermittent disconnects are still possible for applications connecting through the ZenFire API including, but not limited to, NinjaTrader. Should you experience an interruption, MirusTrader remains available to all ZenFire users and serves as an alternative platform to check your positions and manage your account.
□ On Sunday, December 29th, ZenFire experienced a hardware failure that impacted their gateway servers which are required for users to connect. This hardware was replaced and full redundancy was restored Monday evening.
□ On Wednesday, January 1st, additional software upgrades were made by ZenFire to further expand risk management capabilities. This update uncovered a previously unknown bug which added tens of thousands of calculations per second to the system. This excessive system strain triggered a partial outage on Thursday, January 2nd, which disrupted API gateways causing the disconnects on NinjaTrader and other API platforms that many of you experienced.
□ Traders were still able to connect and manage their positions through MirusTrader as this gateway was less impacted, however many clients were unaware of this new capability. The calculation processes that initiated the excessive system strain have been significantly reduced and connectivity through these API gateways has stabilized.
□ Delays are still being reported in market data for Eurex and ICE. ZenFire expects these delays to be further reduced in coming days, but has halted order execution in the interim to ensure these markets are not traded on delayed prices.
□ This information was not found on either the Mirus Futures twitter feed or their blog.

■ On January 2nd, 2014 - 5:30 pm CT (6:30 pm ET) Mirus Futures' CEO sends a letter to its clients.(https://www.mirusfutures.com/emails/Client_ZenFire_Update_CEO_1.2.14.htm)

□ Apologizes for interruptions.
□ Suggest avoiding live trading on NinjaTrader through Friday, January 3rd.
□ The potential does remain for delays in market data for both Eurex and ICE. ZenFire expects that these delays will be significantly reduced by Sunday, January 5th.
□ ZenFire will be undergoing system maintenance this evening and traders will be unable to connect to ZenFire or login to MirusTrader for short periods of time during these updates.
□ This information was not found on either the Mirus Futures twitter feed or their blog.

■ On January 2nd, 2014 - 9:00 am CT (10:00 am ET) Mirus Futures sends a ZenFire Status Update(https://www.mirusfutures.com/emails/Client_ZenFire_Update_1.2.14.htm)

□ Interruptions in the morning.
□ Suggests avoid live trading.
□ Log in to MirusTrader to actively manage account.
□ This information was not found on either the Mirus Futures twitter feed or their blog.

■ On December 31st, 2013 - 4:00 pm CT (5:00 pm ET) Mirus Futures sends an email to its clients
with an Eurex & ICE Status (https://www.mirusfutures.com/emails/Client_ZenFire_Update_12.31.13.htm)

□ While the majority of our traders have connected, the potential does remain for delays in market data for both Eurex and ICE. ZenFire has worked with the exchanges to reconfigure the connect points and establishing a stable connection remains their top priority. It is expected that these issues will be resolved by this Sunday, January 5th.
□ This information was not found on either the Mirus Futures twitter feed or their blog.

■ On December 30th, 2013 - 7:00 pm CT (8:00 pm ET) Mirus Futures sends an email to its clients, apologizing for connection issues many its clients experienced throughout the day. The ZenFire connectivity for NinjaTrader users has been restored and is available for live trading. (https://www.mirusfutures.com/emails/Client_Connectivity_Status_Update_Two.htm)

□ As a reminder, MirusTrader is also now available to all Mirus clients as an alternative account management platform to check positions and working orders.
□ This information was not found on either the Mirus Futures twitter feed or their blog.

■ On December 30th, 2013 (around 12:30 PM EST), Mirus Futures sends an email to its clients regarding technical issues experienced by many of its clients, namely, disconnects from the ZenFire data feed. (https://www.mirusfutures.com/emails/Client_Connectivity_Status_Update.htm)

□ This information was not found on either the Mirus Futures twitter feed or their blog.

■ On December 23rd, 2013, Mirus Futures sends an email to its clients introducing them to new ZenFire tools and capabilities. The changes include server-side OCO and bracket orders, MirusTrader (a trading solution built on HTML5 which offers seamless connectivity through firewalls), global network expansion to enhance connectivity in Europe and Asia and updated market data dissemination & reporting capabilities to meet 2014 exchange regulations. (https://www.mirusfutures.com/emails/Client_Update_December2013.htm)

□ The enhancements were to come through a NinjaTrader update (v18), on December 26th, 2013.
□ The ZenFire update eliminated the need for Rithmic as part of the ZenFire solution.
□ Support for legacy 3rd party platforms no longer compliant with ZenFire including R | Trader would be discontinued on December 31st, 2013. The new Risk Management terminal available through the free MirusTrader not only
replaces R | Trader, but significantly expands the tools available.
□ This information was not found on either the Mirus Futures twitter feed or their blog.

Please let me know in which direction AMP / Ninja / Zen users are moving to gain a new data provider.

Rithmic has cancelled on Zen, so now I'm in the data hunt again.

The choices appear to be CQG and AMP / TTnet. I suppose I will go with TT as CQG drove me mad with
disconnects. All healed on the move to Zen.

I have had the worst luck this year...

All / any input is needed and appreciated.

About to email the great support at AMP and begin the transition.

I just spoke with Amp directly this evening and was informed NinjaTrader cannot connect to Rithmic through AMP.

So as the e-mail states AMP Ninja Trader data feed choices are TT or CQG.

I would be happy to assist anyone who seeks to try or switch to Rithmic directly over NinjaTrader.
We had good experience with Rithmic, and have been responsive on futures.io (formerly BMT) to tech issues whenever they arise with members here. Rithmic supports all CME/CBOT products.

PM with any questions about optimusfutures (800) 771-6748 (561) 367 8686. THERE IS A SUBSTANTIAL RISK OF LOSS IN FUTURES TRADING.

I would like to know a bit more about the TTnet gag... I have a feeling it's a subscription type deal, however....

We'll see when I hear from AMP

OK ... TTnet appears to have no historical data via AMP....

The only choice with AMP / NT seems to be CQG.

I have an account at Mirus and called them to discuss this email from AMP

They confirmed that ZenFire has been updated to add things like server side OCOs and sent me this link for more info...
https://www.mirusfutures.com/emails/unleash_ninjatrader_zenfire_fire.htm
Sounds like a new download of NinjaTrader is coming out next week.
Thinking Amp may have been left out in the cold.

Stay beef!

thanks @Mrbaffalo,

I find it rather odd or better very unprofessional, that amp sent this email with a link to a trading forum (elite trader). and then saying they were provided with limited information.

looks like they didn't try very hard to get the necessary information. even I as a nobody was able to figure out what's happening a month ago.
