Wanted to clarify couple of things about this ( based on what I am familiar with ):

- MC/Rithmic - No historical tick data - only live data - irrespective of Broker

- Sierra/Rithmic - if rithmic is ONLY from optimus - you get historical tick data - if not - only live data

PS: No affiliation with Optimus. Just a satisfied user of Optimus.

Thanks

MC has a nice feature whereby one can combine/merge data feeds so not too worried there, but as far as Sierra/Rithmic, I was unaware. Thanks for the info

Here's today's update:

Mirus Futures Client Update
January 7th, 2014 - 9:00 pm CT (10:00 pm ET)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Dear Traders,

Thank you again for your continued patience during the recent service interruption.

We are finalizing the setup of a new connectivity solution for our NinjaTrader users and expect to have additional details distributed shortly.

This solution will allow NinjaTrader users to resume trading their Mirus account through an alternative technology.

ZenFire order execution remains closed and we will be outlining how Mirus clients can convert to the new solution once it is available for your market data and order execution.

Please contact your broker here at Mirus or Mirus Support at 312.262.1288 with any questions you may have in the interim.

With all due respect, I have a very hard time understanding how an overloaded network could take down zenfire for nearly 3 days now. Please elaborate.

I am not qualified to elaborate since it's not my technology. That being said, I think its simply stated that their new infrastructure did not scale as they expected.

CQG data is very comparable to Zenfire data and it offers the same Exchanges covered by Zenfire.

They often charge extra for Eurex data though (not sure if it's the case through Dorman)

You are fortunate. I have received no communications directly from Mirus at all. I contacted them at the end of December regarding the Ninja update to inquire why I wasn't receiving their communications all of a sudden. It took 3 days to respond and they referred me to an email reminder that I never got in the first place. I saw the notice that went out last night, on the Ninja support site. I contacted Mirus support, emailed my Mirus contact who initially set me up, tried calling the number in the email several times (couldn't get through), and emailed another Mirus contact from a friend of mine. Not a single response. I now have AMP/CQG demo running so at least I have charting, and am actively looking for a new datafeed/broker.

Well, looks like it makes a difference who your broker at Mirus is, so mileages differ...

Mirus just may be a shell of a company that was doing just great as long as everything ticked along"pun not intended".

There is a reason that Mirus can't cope. They are miserably understaffed and those staffers are miserably underpaid.
Hard to answer the phone or emails when you have a couple wankers standing around. And for all this jive about the pieces and parts of this industry...that is the problem...too many pieces and parts that don't leave me with a feeling of confidence.
But I digress...I lost 280,000 bucks while doing business with PFG...only a fraction of which I have recovered. That left a hefty crap taste in my mouth so I don't put a lot of faith in the industry as a whole.

You get what you pay for most of the time...so bottom feeding for lower commissions at the discount broker is nothing more than a race to the bottom. The day of the free data is probably over and traders are going to have to pay much higher prices for the privilege of entering the markets....

I started out in this business paying 1400/month for a CQG Satellite feed in addition to paying 47.50/round turn on the S&P.
Lower cost of trading has surely allowed the masses permission to trade from their bedrooms, but there is a point of diminishing returns...and the Mirus debacle is a prime example of that point.

No. At this time, NinjaTrader through Rithmic will not support server side OCO.

I hope you are at least looking to update Rithmic's API release you are using from an ancient 4.8.0.1 (which is a few years old) to a recent release? It surely works as is, but you know, they don't change revision numbers for no reason, and there have been MANY since the one you are using.

POST OF THE YEAR!

Brokers also have set a very bad precedence for customer behavior with margins as well. Low minimums, highest leverage and lowest day trading margins that makes customers churn themselves. Once they have accustomed to this behavior unlearning will be impossible for most. Also, everyone competes for the same software with lowest commissions, but you would think someone would ask also an intelligent question along the way "how well do you know your software?" "How well will you support this software? "Do you understand how to manage risk with this software?"

This is never asked and Most brokers get the software and their technical assistance ends at "Email "Name of TradingSoftware".

@NinjaTrader
Zen-Fire provided historical tick data, historical bid/ask data, historical bid/ask daily data, historical bid/ask tick data, historical minute data and historical daily data.

Source:
NinjaTrader Version 7
Click on Operations and then on Historical & Real-Time Data.

Does anyone know what Rithmic will offer?

As I read, Rithmic does not offer historical tick data. What about the other types? Do we need a second datafeed like Kinetick for historical data then?

NT does it. ZF or R doesn't

We have had Rithmic for years. We build our entire system around it, and if you want to test it just go to our site and you will receive demo credentials within seconds. We had customers with us for years, and all the testimonials we have received was due to the Rithmic support we provided.

browsed your website but was unable to find anything where i could request a demo
can you please provide a link

tried putting in my details into the "request more info" box but it keeps telling me "wrong image code" (reloaded the page to refresh the image even).
