If I had a definite answer that the feed was ok/not ok, then yes I could decide not to trade. However, Mirus told me MirusTrader was fully functioning. I hold them responsible.

Would like to go direct to Dorman now. At least they knew what was going on.

Any firm that sends this kind off statement with allot of red flags to there clients are graving there own graveyard.

Dear Traders,

ZenFire connectivity has stabilized and is available for live trading as of Sunday, January 5th.

Although not expected, instances of intermittent disconnects are still possible for applications connecting through the ZenFire API including, but not limited to, NinjaTrader. Should you experience an interruption, MirusTrader remains available to all ZenFire users and serves as an alternative platform to check your positions and manage your account. You can login with your ZenFire username and password to launch MirusTrader.

Significant progress has been made to restore connectivity following the service interruptions you have experienced over the past week.

On Sunday, December 29th, ZenFire experienced a hardware failure that impacted their gateway servers which are required for users to connect. This hardware was replaced and full redundancy was restored Monday evening.

On Wednesday, January 1st, additional software upgrades were made by ZenFire to further expand risk management capabilities. This update uncovered a previously unknown bug which added tens of thousands of calculations per second to the system. This excessive system strain triggered a partial outage on Thursday, January 2nd, which disrupted API gateways causing the disconnects on NinjaTrader and other API platforms that many of you experienced.

Traders were still able to connect and manage their positions through MirusTrader as this gateway was less impacted, however many clients were unaware of this new capability. The calculation processes that initiated the excessive system strain have been significantly reduced and connectivity through these API gateways has stabilized.

Please be aware that delays are still being reported in market data for Eurex and ICE. ZenFire expects these delays to be further reduced in coming days, but has halted order execution in the interim to ensure these markets are not traded on delayed prices. Mirus clients with active positions have been enabled for order execution and have the ability to manage their positions in both NinjaTrader or MirusTrader.

The ZenFire team continues to work to fully restore performance and additional system maintenance can be expected in the coming days during off market hours. During these periods, traders may be unable to connect to ZenFire or access MirusTrader for short periods of time.

anyone remember Alaron Futures?
They dropped their accounting of positions long, in my account, and I carried a position for a few days before I could verify with their non-responsive team, that I indeed had a phantom orphan position. Fortunately, I had an auto trader that performed wonderfully, but that phantom took all those gains from the autotrader. I threw both of them out and ran for the hills, except I was on the open plains of Laredo... there's a song in there somewhere...

those nightmare situations haunt you for years, long after they're resolved, so perhaps staying out of the markets aren't so bad, as the meandering and aimlessness of the DJIA today shares that sympathy too

@kronie been staying busy so have not posted much but still lurking.

Dorman clears (or at least as I was told years ago) for many, many floor traders (if they still make them anymore),

and when you're a client at one of their FCM's like AMP (formerly, or presently, who knows) and Mirus, then they shun you from opening directly with them.

Save yourself the (emotional) headache, and call them on this issue before proceeding.... let them explain their logic (if there is any to their decisions) -- pm me on your results (so this doesn't take on the aire of a slugfest and bad mouthing firms and cause legality issues for mikey)

Interesting Kronie, I'll let you know what happens.

This is so NOT COOL. Mirus must be loosing business/customers in droves by the minute. This simply should not happen EVER in this day and age. I'm beginning to wonder if some statement re the customer accounts might be on the way...? Well, when it rains......

i have account with mirus, i transfered my account from bigtick to t4 and all ok now

* If investing gets too difficult for a seventh grader to understand, the system is needlessly complex
* Markets produce an enormous volume of information, much of which is redundant
* In every game and con there's always an opponent, and there's always a victim. The trick is to know when you're the latter, so you can become the former
