I had it with Mirus & Zenfire. One time, about a year and a half ago Zenfire or Mirus had cut out for an hour or more, and they just blamed it on Zenfire. I called the front desk, and the washed up sounding guy, obviously not in the right professional mood to be at the desk during an emergency, took it out on me and yelled at me when I politely asked him about my account which had positions frozen. Other times, it sounds like teenagers man the desk. (I had worked on a customer service line, and the few times out of hundreds of calls, I expressed displeasure on the phone was when the customer immediately on pick up of the phone, started f-bombing me and not being civil. ) Then the unexpected raise of a fee for a month of inactivity was the last straw.

I am now with AMP and found I'm much happier there. Customer service has been good to me so far. And the CQG feed gives me more symbols and instruments than Zenfire did. And no more cut-outs.

@tderrick,

By the way, are you're CQG disconnects data or order-routing disconnects or is it all the same connection?

It seems to be a bit more solid this time around, but I did get one disconnect when I first fired it(CQG) up
after coming
from Zen and I thought, oh crap, here we go again. But it reestablished the connection right away. A massive
improvement from when I left - when it would not reconnect for what seemed like an eternity.

Looking at the log file, it was the order routing server. The data usually continues to stream and I would
get the orange box.

I will be hitting it hard Monday and Tuesday, so I will update on the # of drops this time around with CQG.
I have a weak connection that Zen didn't seem to mind, but CQG hated. That is the only explanation I can
think of. So many people have great success with CQG. It must be on my end.

Pray for me

grazie

The Cats at AMP have always been fantastic to me, even though I'm a small fish.
I know I have been a pest at times, but they answered all my questions and were patient
with all my rookie questions when I was starting out. I'm sure they have my name on a board
somewhere as the "Data Feed Switcher"

Hopefully I can stick with CQG for a while ...

I have an account at Mirus and called them to discuss this email from AMP

They confirmed that ZenFire has been updated to add things like server side OCOs and sent me this link for more info...
https://ninjatrader.com/
Sounds like a new download of NinjaTrader is coming out next week.
Thinking Amp may have been left out in the cold.

Stay beef!

I emailed Mirus and got the same confirmation as above in the email:

"Thank you for the inquiry. There has been no news release from us as we will continue to offer the speed and reliability of the ZenFire trading engine. In the upcoming week, you will receive notice to update your NinjaTrader. Please let us know if you have any other inquiries.

Regards,

Mirus Support"

Ninja will release update release 7.0.1000.18 next week. It's not about new functionality but supposed to fix the disconnection issues, such as I have experienced with BigTick. Also there's been bug in NT which in some instances has delayed the incoming ticks, eg 1 min bars last longer than 1 minute PC time in very fast periods of market, like during FOMC announcement on Wednesday. I have not heard about any serverside functionality on zenfire, as all those features are only on BigTick. Likewise, MirusTrader, an HTML5 based client, works only with BigTick.

ok, thanks Silvester17, looks things changed recently. Good for you. I switched to BigTick 3 months ago because I was told in order to get serverside OCO and browser client there's no other way. Maybe server OCO will also be in zenfire as well soon ;-)

I wonder why some brokers still have Zen-Fire as a data feed.

So a question remains in my mind about the future of Zen an per the subject of this thread. Amp no longer
supports Zen, but other brokers do.

I will contact AMP and see if they will be open to reinstating Zen as a feed if / when the Rithmic contract
is resolved.

A bit confused.

The bottom line is, AMP said they no longer support Zen, so the switch to CQG was my only choice with
AMP / Ninja.

Dear Traders,

Since 2004, ZenFire has continued to advance the speed and reliability of trading solutions available for futures traders. As the premier ZenFire introducing broker, Mirus Futures is excited to introduce new ZenFire tools and capabilities leveraging the latest in technology advancements.

These enhancements once again redefine "performance" for the futures industry and have been designed specifically to optimize your NinjaTrader experience:

Advanced platform functionality including server-side OCO and
bracket orders
Mobile trading through the free MirusTrader web-based platform
Seamless connectivity through firewalls
Global network expansion to enhance connectivity in Europe and Asia
Updated market data dissemination & reporting capabilities to meet
2014 exchange regulations

For Mirus clients using NinjaTrader, a NinjaTrader update will be distributed this Thursday, December 26th, which integrates the recent ZenFire enhancements. NinjaTrader v18 will empower traders with the most advanced NinjaTrader user experience in the industry.

In addition, the new web-based MirusTrader platform is also now available for all Mirus clients and can be used in conjunction with NinjaTrader for fully integrated mobile trading.

Built in HTML5, MirusTrader releases traders from their desktops allowing you to check positions, monitor the markets, and trade your account from any computer or mobile device. MirusTrader is free to use for all Mirus clients and serves as an outstanding web-companion to the platforms in our technology portfolio.

It has also come to our attention that some purposely "confusing" messages have been distributed to traders in recent weeks. To clarify some of the inquiries we have been receiving:

The ZenFire updates eliminated the need for Rithmic as part of the ZenFire
solution. As ZenFire continued to receive client requests to add new
functionality and connect to new exchanges, they developed their own
internal software solution to enhance the ZenFire trading engine.

Support for legacy 3rd party platforms no longer compliant with ZenFire
including R | Trader will be discontinued on December 31st, 2013. For
those traders that have used R | Trader to manage risk, our new Risk
Management terminal available through the free MirusTrader not only
replaces R | Trader, but significantly expands the tools you have available.
As a Mirus client, you can transition immediately to the free MirusTrader
to experience the advanced ZenFire capabilities.

The futures industry has been changing rapidly for years and Mirus is proud to continue to provide technology advances to further equip self-directed traders with tools designed to help level the playing field with professional traders. We appreciate your trust in our services and are looking forward to helping all our traders have an outstanding 2014.

As always, please do not hesitate to contact our Support Team or call us directly at 312.262.1288 with any questions you may have.

Sincerely,

Eliot Wickersheimer
CEO, Mirus Futures

thanks @gain247

here's the same from website:

https://ninjatrader.com/

I especially like this part:

"It has also come to our attention that some purposely "confusing" messages have been distributed to traders in recent weeks"

and again, the disconnection with rithmic is very positive for zen-fire. they got something better now
