Hi again,

Did anyone make a market order trade around 2pm yesterday? I made a market order at 1h55 and then it was only filled around 2h15!!!

I called my broker and they told me Ironbeam has connection failure!

Did anyone else experience this yesterday? (or some other time?)

I lost money b/c of Ironbeam's garbage servers.

Never used Ironbeam, but there should be a log file. A market order would not take 20 min to fill. I believe it was sitting on your PC until the connection problem was cleared up . There should have been some indication that the order made it to the market.

What platform are you using with Ironbeam?

Math. A gateway drug to reality.

Using Firetip.

Broker told me today that Ironbeam made me sign some fine print when i joined that in the event of technical problems they are not responsible.

Which I find disgusting....so I lose a few hundred b/c of their garbage server, now I have to bear that cost?

Wow the brokerage industry>> What a real honest business.

Take some responsibility for your own actions. This is a profession, not a video game. How do you allow yourself to not know your order isn't filled for 20 minutes? You elected to self direct your funds. You are managing your money. You've said "hey, I've got this". So now man up and accept responsibility for your actions and decisions.

Professionals have backup solutions in place. Backup brokers, backup internet, backup computers, ready to dial emergency phone numbers, etc just to name a few to deal with events like these.

You've been given countless recommendations on the forum, most of which you've flatly ignored. And then you come here and say the broker is to blame? I've never done business with that broker, but even if they suck - you are the one to blame, since you picked them!

Mike

edit: Sorry if harsh. I am hyped up a bit on high dose of prednisone fighting another URTI (upper respiratory infection). Still, you need to accept responsibility. Fire Ironbeam if you are convinced they are the problem.

Was there any indication that your market order was not filled or pending at the time you put it in? Does your platform indicate connection lost? What exactly happened after you entered your market order?

If it wasn't for their machines I would of made 3 points profit.

Ihave to be responsible to make sure their servers are working? That is their duty.

They were negligent so why should thousands of traders lose money b/c of their irresponsibility.

You can't blame me for the clearing house being negligent, b/c its out of my control

Thats like blaming the shareholder's for Enron's crooked management.

It said "transmitting" . No I have High speed cable, and im connected right to the modem.

Connection wasn't lost b/c prices kept moving on the DOM and on the chart.

"you signed a contract saying that Ironbeam is not responsible for technical problems" is a cop out.

But maybe big mike was right in a sense that I should of called broker and told them to cancel that market order.

If you held onto Enron stock all the way down and added more because the CEO said it was going up any minute now on CNBC then yes, it would be partly the shareholders fault.

I guess what I am saying is maybe you should move to somewhere else besides Ironbeam and firetip if you feel they are not reliable.
