is there anyway to change the way IB quotes and executes spreads?

i am referring to (native) exchange traded spreads

for example nymex crude jun13-dec13...IB quotes it backwards (old floor style inverts to dec-jun) and havent been able to use stops etc

crack spreads are quoted properly but same problem with stops not accepted

is there something i need to toggle or just the limitation with IB?

thanks
b

This question is related to margins for spreads. If i place a calendar spread on an Ag Commodity is there a discount on the margin from Interactive Brokers? I've scoured the site but have yet to find the answer. Amp does not offer discounted margins with the CQG data...Which is a strange one...

For those of you that trade seasonal spreads what brokers do you typically use if you do not use Interactive Brokers?

Interactive Broker does indeed reduce margins based on exchange reductions for calendar spreads (inter-market).

Actually, TWS is quite well setup for trading spreads and with the SpreadTrader its quite easy to find the right calendar spreads.

They do not however provide any relief on margin for inter-market spreads, unless they are exchange spreads such as CL_HO, CL_RB...

Add some seasonality to your spreads for a tasty result!
