1) Stop changing things. No new indicators, charts, or methods. Be consistent with what is in front of you first.

Just wanted to share an IQFeed tip for those who rely on this data feed for their trading: if one of the invoices fails due to a unspecified payment error with the credit card, you lose access to your IQFeed data feed within 24 hours. This happens even after you contacted IQFeed support to ask them why the payment was not processed and even after you've been a reliable customer for over two years.

Equally annoying are the uninformative error messages like the email saying "charges been unsuccessful" and in the online portal "Payment attempt failed - payment failed. (Code: )" (with an empty error code).

Did other futures.io (formerly BMT) users also experienced this? What can cause this? My credit card is not expired and invoices from other companies work fine.

Hello Jura, I apologize for the inconvenience. I'm not 100% sure why this is happening, but I will find out. In the mean time I will send you a temporary userid#/pw so you can continue access to our feed. If this EVER happens again do contact me directly and I will make sure that you don't have any disruption of service. We take situations like this very seriously and understand how important it is to make sure that our feed is kept on for our users.

Me
I know what my password is and I have entered this correctly.

But I cannot login anymore after your Cash Applications Department had trouble processing my monthly payment. Since then I get the error message 'login failed - your password is incorrect'.


IQFeed Support email
Can you confirm you have closed the Multicharts and the IQ Connection manager in the Task manager 1st , then start the Multi-charts.

If you are using any other icon it will not start.

I had all MultiCarts processes closed. Then when I started it up, the IQ Connect Login showed, saying again that the password is incorrect.

Should I retry it in another way?


IQFeed Support email
To change the Password, you will need to start the Quote manager only, then go to tools, data sources, High light the IQFEED and click on settings on the right side. Change the password and say OK and close the Quote manager down. Then start the Multicharts up, it will pass the login and password to the IQconnect and login.



(Since my payment still isn't processed in the online portal, I guess that causes the login issue.)

As an update, James got me access again to the IQFeed data feed with half an hour. That's very impressive, and he's been very helpful and informative.

Also thanks for Mike for having these kind of AMA topics: otherwise I'd still have miscommunication with general IQFeed support.

Moral of the story: The communication trouble I had with the general IQFeed support is probably due to the fact that three different people answered my emails and that seemingly each did not knew what the others knew. futures.io (formerly BMT) users with IQFeed problems can much better contact James directly.

A lesson learned.

Recent CC switch was fine for me

We recently had our credit card canceled when VISA noticed a few fraudulent purchases. They immediately FedEx'd a new card to us "next day" after which I had to go through updating any auto-payment accounts that were pulling from the old card (including IQFeed). This did unfortunately happen on literally the day that IQFeed typically bills my account but I simply updated my CC info online and sent them an Email asking to retry were there any issues (and I did receive an Email from them stating as such anyway). They were able to retry without issue using the new card so I never had any loss of data.

Kudos to DTN/IQFeed - still very glad I chose them as my data provider (though sorry to hear Jura had issues....)

Hi James.

Support is lagging a bit... Sent an email 3 days ago and no reply yet...
Not an urgent issue but usually emails were always answered in the same day...

Anyway, can you tell me which days does IQFeed rollover the Corn, Soybean and Wheat continuous contracts?
CME says the prior business day of 15th day of the contract month but does IQFeed follow the same rule with the equities rollover, 1 week prior the contract expiration?
