@IQFeed James do you have a cumulative TICK symbol? (accumulate the daily values +/-)

Mike

Mike, good question. I'm not 100% sure, but I think you may be referring to either TICK or TRIN. If so, we do have these. If not, please provide a little more detail.

Thanks!

James

Mike is referring to a cumulative sum of TICK values. IMO it would need to be done intraday. Summing 1 minute values would be sufficient for a long term view, but summing your 1 second intervals would be most useful intraday.

If TICK values are (unrealistic but giving an example only):

9:30:01 200
9:30:02 210
9:30:03 50
9:30:04 -100
...

As of 9:30:04, the cumulative tick would be 200+210+50-100 = 360

This one would be good but is not difficult to calculate using most software, as it is based on a single existing indicator, TICK (JTNT.Z for NYSE tick for example). The others require using thousands of stocks to calculate so are nearly impossible for the average user to do so himself.

Josh, thank you for the explanation. Currently, we donít provide a cumulative tick as you described in this post. It would be quite easy to calculate this in most 3rd party applications or Excel. It is definitely something we can put on the wish list however.

Thanks again!

James

Just wanted to share an IQFeed tip for those who rely on this data feed for their trading: if one of the invoices fails due to a unspecified payment error with the credit card, you lose access to your IQFeed data feed within 24 hours. This happens even after you contacted IQFeed support to ask them why the payment was not processed and even after you've been a reliable customer for over two years.

Equally annoying are the uninformative error messages like the email saying "charges been unsuccessful" and in the online portal "Payment attempt failed - payment failed. (Code: )" (with an empty error code).

Did other futures.io (formerly BMT) users also experienced this? What can cause this? My credit card is not expired and invoices from other companies work fine.

Interesting, I received an email from them when my monthly payment failed due to credit card expiration.
I went to the online customer page, add the new number and from there things were fine. Have been charged ever since without any problem.

Have you contacted customer services again regarding the payment failures? That might be some temporary issue with servers or stuff like that.

If I become half a percent smarter each year, I'll be a genius by the time I die

Thanks for thinking along. My card expires in two years, and the numbers on the online customer page are correct.

I've asked support what the cause was of the failed payment, but so far we've only touched the basics (like is the credit card number correct). It has not been straightforward so far, that's why I thought someone here might have an idea.

I've never had a problem with losing service, and I've updated card info a couple of times over the years.

IQFeed Support
Our Cash Applications Department is having issues processing the payments (...)

It took a while (a long while compared to how responsive IQFeed normally is) but the cause seems to be known now. At least it's not caused by my credit card.

Can't say I'm very satisfied that, because of an issue outside of my influence, I still cannot use the IQFeed data feed. But I hope that it is switched back on today.

(...) But I hope that it is switched back on today.

Today is the third day without IQFeed data, and it still isn't solved. Communicating with IQFeed support has been an exercise in patience:

IQFeed Support email
Our Cash Applications Department is having issues processing the payments (...).

me
Do you might know when I can login again? Currently the 'IQ Connect' app keeps saying "your password is incorrect".

IQFeed Support email
Do you have your account number or email on you use for your account?

me
My account number is xxxxx.

IQFeed Support email
Your password is xxxx.

me
I know what my password is and I have entered this correctly.

But I cannot login anymore after your Cash Applications Department had trouble processing my monthly payment. Since then I get the error message 'login failed - your password is incorrect'.

Perhaps the ninth email today will turn my data feed back on.
