Hi Brian, will charts be available with the auto spreader? Another question is will stops be able to be placed on the auto spreader dom, some of your competitors in this area are not able to place stops in auto spreader?

Are you able to post any details about any of the functionality of the auto spreader or how it might work?

Thanks,

Chris

In terms of new functionality, a button that resets the volume at price (total) in the contract window would be good. This would allow an easier view of market development as it moves through the day

Brian, TheDude just reminded me of one serious gripe with the DOM that I just could not understand (and maybe did not understand correctly). The volume at price display is an essential and very nice feature; however, it seems that instead of automatically adjusting the scale automatically, there is an option in the properties under Display->Prop Scale that requires the user to manually go and adjust the scale. Obviously this is a huge pain, particularly as the scale value is currently "4250" -- what that means I don't know (the manual does not say I don't think) and it does not seem to be a fixed scale from 0 to 100 for example. In short, the bars are visible early on, like so, this was taken a few minutes before the open:

But very quickly, the view becomes unreadable like so:

4550 and 4575 have very different volume traded, but the visual in the profile is the same; ditto for higher prices. So, I have to change the scale (increase the value) to make it look like this:

Why not just auto-adjust the scale?

Chris, I just got my hands on the Alpha version so give me some time to play with it and I will post some details. The charts will be part of the auto spreader as you can chart the custom spreads that you create. I will post more as I get more information.

Thanks Brian

My complaints about the platform have been shared with CQG a few times, seems they have other agendas than my issues, which I understand. That being said, Brian, maybe you could explain to the forum your primary client, and who you guys focus on the most, as there are some basic options your platform does not offer that when inquired about, one is told something along the lines of 'this is harder to change than you think and although we know about it, its not on our horizon anytime soon.' As I said, I understand that, but given your feature set (basic charts, basic ladders, limited customization, CST only, new options page seemed very important and now an autospreader) seems you are focused on technology limited ex-chicago floor traders that want simple execution with charting in a very competitive price point.

Thanks.

The scale you set it at is how many lots it takes at that price for a new segment of the horizontal bar to show up... if you follow that. Not sure the best way to explain it. This is how TT was when I had it also.

Makes sense -- I just can't figure why T4 does not automatically change the scale (or at least have an option to). On a price chart, on every platform I've ever used, T4 included, the price scale automatically changes when a new high or low is made; so why doesn't the profile scale change so that the volume profile is readable? Hopefully this would be addressed.

Pretty much you want to set a "max" level, be it 50, 75, 100% of the area of the horizontal volume bar, and the highest volume would fill up the max and everything else would adjust in conjunction, correct? Maybe other platforms have it and I have never noticed it, but the TT and CQG doms do not have this that I can recall... so I doubt CQG will be offering this any time soon.
