Hi all,
Does anyone know if CQG provides RAW and unfiltered data? I am located in HK and the closest server is probably CQG SG.

I am likely to be making a switch from Esignal to CQG. Being in HK, I am on Esignal US data server. That is absurd given Esignal has already built data server in HK. However, they are not letting retail users on HK server because ONLY CORPORATE users have priority. My consersative guess is HK-US-HK round trip has to be at least 500ms latency if not more.

Currently, my other choice is IB. While I use renko bars for trading, the snapshot data from IB should be fine. Nonetheless, snapshots on some instruments consists of different highs and lows. It seems to be missing 1 tick (using esignal as comparison.)

I am down to my last option with CQG. Please let me know what you think. Thank you!!

Best regards,
Jack

Hello Typer77 and traders with questions about a data source.
I am taking the Shadowtraders.com course because I needed answers to these basic questions.
I have studied and practiced for ten years and could not get straight answers to software, hardware, broker, data, type of charts, how to use any of it and not have to study another ten years to get somewhere.
I am amazed by traders that seem to have all the answers and really make it work for them.
The owner of the Shadowtraders course is a woman. Barbara Cohen was a computer programer for a Hedge Fund and she knows a ton of details to every aspect of trading. She wrote an eBook with basic explainations that answered most of the questions I have asked other professionals and never received a satisfactory answer.
I tried for years to understand how to use different charts. I kept taking lessons that got me back to Ninjatrader.
The problem is that you can't talk with NT when you have a problem. You can talk with Interactive Brokers, but, most of their operators are not trained and their data is bundled. There are problems with trading Futures with eSignal data along with other providers. You have data sources that work for stocks and not for futures, just like the manner in which you get your Pivots. One method matches levels for stocks and does not work well for Futures etc.
To trade Futures you need up front, tick by tick data in order to scalp because you are trying to trade the current price movement. Ampfutures.com with CQG data was recommended. Why? Because it is free and you can practice trade all you want before starting to trade real time. Also, Amp has trained operators who can get on you computer and set you up and answers any questions you have about Ninjatrader charts. Low margins, and commission charge, but, only for trading Futures.

None. Not even sure if CQG works with NT7 without Amp's futures account. I just found out nt needs special adaptor for CQG API. AMP maybe the only way to grt the adaptor.
