STill down for me ...If the servers go down and one was in a position, how would they get out of the position if it was going against them? Would rithmic eat the loss or what you the indiivdual have to eat the loss?

Call your broker, verify your positions, and do what you have to do from there.
Close your position, place a stop, a target or both.

Trading futures and options involves substantial risk of loss and is not suitable for all investors. Past performance is not necessarily indicative of future results. You may lose more than your initial investment. All posts are opinions and do not claim to be facts. Please conduct your own due diligence. Use only Risk capital when trading Futures.

@guppy

Are you kidding.... write this down in the back of your Bible... this is gospel.... the small trader ALWAYS eats the loss...

I'm just a simple man trading a simple plan.

My daddy always said, "Every day above ground is a good day!"

This where you need to make sure a stop loss is in that sits at exchange not on your computer. That way as long problem is with your pc connection or feed and not at exchange itself you have a backstop to take you out of market.

"The day I became a winning trader was the day it became boring. Daily losses no longer bother me and daily wins no longer excited me. Took years of pain and busting a few accounts before finally got my mind right. I survived the darkness within and now just chillax and let my black box do the work."

I really appreciate your input via comments like this.
@guppy who asked this question knows the consequences of power failure, and it was nothing short of an attempted to stir up an unnecessary obvious. The addition of the "small guy" by TMFT was not necessary either.

Power failure affected affect us all alike despite of size of account, but having a contingency is always a necessary evil.
We have helped all customers today via email, Skype, or the phone just like we do if the customer had a power failure.

I was not tyring to stir up anyhting. I just want to know the facts and in the event it were to happen to any trader ot myself what we can expect. Asking questions and taking precautions is a good thing for everyone to know. I would rather know then to be surprised in the even this happens. Simple as that.

I saw the first part of this question, and it was the right question.
the second part...you know better, and if not I apologize. I read your comments and thought you are more experienced.

Yea, i never had any issues but wanted to know if in the event what would happen. As long as the broker can exit one out then the trader will be safe. If both the trader and broker couldnt do anything then the trader would be exposed. Safety first!

of course, this is why we are here. We not only check on the Rithmic level, but on the exchange levels for any orders outstanding and help you from there.
