I understand that MB pays you to use Limit Orders (interesting).

Interesting, BUT MB Trading does not guarantee Limit Orders if you want to get filled at certain price, mainly when there is momentum you will not get filled as simple as that. So many times I did not get filled, and just lost great opportunities... As you may know Stop Orders has priority, so the best thing to do is to ignore that stuff they say about we pay for Limits Orders and just place a Buy/Sell Stop Orders if you need to get filled at certain price.

I have my futures account with Mirus. They offer Forex by referring you to Gain ... how you say... "Bucket Shop" ... frankly .... if trading against your broker doesn't scare you... what do you do for "thrills"... re-enact that scene from "The Deer Hunter"....

You can have MB Trading forex account with Mirus as well, just wondering what is the difference if I have a Mirus MB Trading account instead of a MB Trading account, I have to check with them...

Well I opened a forex account with MB Trading about a week ago and I have to say that I'm not very impressed with their data. It seems to be pretty yucky as compared to PFG.

That's what I've been telling people too....cheap commissions are the only good thing bout them, just my 2 cents. Used them for 1 1/2 years too long. Im a little slow to make change lol

@MWinfrey

I figured that much ... but what exactly was bad....i.e. wide spreads, missing data, lagging data feed, all of the above etc.

well shucks...didn't realize you wanted me to back up my claim, show my work, fill in the blanks, or anything like that. i thought i could throw something out and everyone would just accept it as truth.

anyway, it was all of the above. this morning was the worst. i was getting ticks all over the place without bars and i was looking at EURUSD before the fireworks started. tried reloading data several times. restarted NT as well. nothing worked. went back to pfg to reload the data and the back to mb trading to see if that worked. it didn't. so i restarted everything and went to pfg data.

just reconnected to mb trading to see if the problem was still there but they evidently fixed it. just to be clear it was historic data that was the problem this morning and that is where i've had the problem every time before this. had no bad experience with the live data. unfortunately when you start a chart and it backfills with crap, your chart looks like crap. also to be fair, there are segments of historic data that have holes and some of those same holes exist with pfg as well.

Thanks for the detailed explanation!

Sorry to hear that things did not work well for you at MB Trading, but what type of charts are you loading? Tick? If it is tick, well forget about it, for some reason there are some issues, yes it is really crap... MB Trading is only good for minutes charts... I did not have the same problem with backfill with PFG Best when I was using tick chart but I had all those problems that you already know.

Now you want to know the true? The true is that data from brokers are always bullcrap, let's say bullshit, mainly the historical backfill and no matter what instrument you are trading; You should not use it to feed your charts, it is not reliable it is not accurate and it is going to mess up your studies and analysis. So, you will need a data provider... Brokers are there to make you broke.
