You might ask @Fat Tails as well, I believe he has a lot of experience with this.

What instruments specifically are you looking for?

Mike

I am not trading stocks, but this is what is probably required:

(1) You need a market data subscription for German stocks with Interactive Brokers. I do not have it, because I do not trade stocks.

(2) You can look up the IB symbols here:

https://individuals.interactivebrokers.com/en/trading/exchanges.php?showcategories=STK&sortproducts=SD&showproducts=A&exch=fwb&ib_entity=llc&search.x=97&search.y=25

Let us for example takeBMW.

The symbol is BMW (big surprise). You will then open the instrument manager and create a new master instrument BMW, instrument type Stock, Currrency Euro. Select both Default and Xetra as the exchange. Set the session template to Xetra.

Now select the Misc tab and enter BMW as the symbol for Interactive Brokers.

Then save the instrument and add it to your default list. When adding the instrument make sure to select Xetra as the exchange.

(3) If you are very clever, you can figure out how to import a whole list of stocks instead of manually entering each symbol.
