Currently I trade EUR/USD with OANDA from the US.

However I do not like OANDA, I am looking for a great broker with low spreads. OANDA spreads are low but customer service and actual execution is not to my liking.

Any recommendations for a spread of < 1.5 for EUR/USD and good for US clients? Also good customer service would be nice

Thanks!

What about MB Trading? They offer rebates on fx limit orders. Can be used with Ninja or Multicharts free version.

Yes. I also used MB Trading when I traded Forex. Good spreads. Good platform (NinjaTrader). Easy to deal with.

I know at least 2 people (myself included) who got scary execution problems on forex with IB (fills totally far outside the spread various times) so be very cautious with them ! They usually refund you but since the structure is big it's sometimes not easy or a slow process.
Can't say the same with MBT, no negative feedback on our side yet.

However if you live outside the USA, definitely check LMAX, it's night and day vs its opponents regarding technology and costs (MultiCharts available and soon MT4)

Based upon my experience with the same combo, I think the problem is that you are using NT7 with IB. Try Sierra Chart with IB or if you want to stick with NT7 then try MBT.. One the many advantages of Sierra Chart over NT7 is that you can connect using the IB Gateway and skip TWS all together.

You may be right because it happened first with NT6.5 then NT7. Anyway, IB is pretty good for the availability of numerous exchanges to global traders and also non-US stocks trading or options, but for the rest there are better choices.
