If you built the perfect system, would you share it or horde it?
If it is made up from free stuff (from, say futures.io (formerly BMT)), then I'll share it. If it is made up from proprietary materials then it cannot be shared.
First it's hard to share something that doesn't exist, and the perfect system doesn't exist.
Second, if you share your perfect system to ten other people, the likelihood they would really use it is slim. They wouldn't have the same belief system about it, you have.
If I built the perfect auto trading system, a bot basically, I would take that to my grave. The only person I'd share it with would be my future son or daughter.
I would offer to help people and point them in the right direction but I would never reveal the exact system. Otherwise, everyone would use it and it would become useless.
If I came up with the perfect system for me, which means it would be discretionary trading, I'd share it with a lot more people.
although i have been tempted to keep my recent creations proprietary, the concepts of open-source and ubuntu compel me to share.
so i guess i would vote "Share".
i concur with Pete's second point.
of the 100s of people who have downloaded stuff that i've created, there are probably 3-5 active users. most important to me is that those 3-5 users continue to provide feedback and suggestions to make the products even better in the next release.
just realized i have morphed your question into something different than the original. perhaps that is OK since many here do not seem to believe that a perfect system exists?
Interesting. More of a psyche question and wondering on my own thinking.
I am glad you found your perfect system. Just reading through some 'systems' that are able to be purchased and I have gone through a few over the last few years and I try to understand more about people and their objectives.
