Most of the people on here have been around the block a few times and actually know what they are doing.

It's also not run by a platform so unlike NT's forum which has 90% people discussing issues why NT crashed, the conversation here tends to be around improving your bottom line.

i could waffle on longer but i think the above covers your point

Adam

You have to enjoy it.

I think it helps that there's a Name and a Face (or at least his dog's face) that goes with this site and gives it credibility and an expectation of integrity, unlike the anonymous brands like EliteTrader,TraderslLaboratory, ForexFactory, etc.where you don't know who is really running things and how credible or trustworthy they are. And Mike does a great job of keeping trolls & spammers under control without being overbearing.

Its also the largest most active forum for ninjatrader users (except for the official one which is not as suited to a general use forum), so the network effect plays big a role.

somehow the forum has managed to avoid the chitchats etc which eventually bogs down almost every other forum. the kudos goes to Mike and the mods who manages things well instead of bossing around.

again unlike other forums where they are run by ppl having a specific interests or simply run by webmasters futures.io (formerly BMT) is run by a trader. with his programming skills and his willingness to help others, makes BTM a sought after place.

The tone set on the forum in it's early stages will be the tone set through the life of the forum.
Mike just did an awesome job in setting a good tone, not mocking beginners and giving the professionals the ground to communicate on their level. The fact that Mike is a trader, understands traders, has been in the shoes of the beginners, and a good programmer are value added bonuses.
But, decency came first and I always say "decency is under rated".

Trading futures and options involves substantial risk of loss and is not suitable for all investors. Past performance is not necessarily indicative of future results. You may lose more than your initial investment. All posts are opinions and do not claim to be facts. Please conduct your own due diligence. Use only Risk capital when trading Futures.
