I'd just say do your research. If you have a website you're considering ordering from look for reviews on that website on google (from UK purchasers). Piracetam is a very weak racetam that has a variety of uses with very few side effects. I don't see why you'd have much of a problem if you did go through your doctor. I'd suggest anyone consult with their doctor before taking any vitamin or supplement regardless if you get a prescription through them, considering you could just order it online. They know your medical history and possible interactions.
I did notice when i took piracetam i'd get slight tingling sensation in my right extremities at higher dosages which always subsided. It's known to have some vasodilating effects. I've since switched to pramiracetam which is a stronger version I take in smaller dosages and It doesn't have that same side effect.
The one thing I've noticed from pramiracetam is that colors appear much more saturated to sight. I only noticed that slightly on piracetam. Also, pramiracetam seems to be much less energetic, but more of a calming stimulation. Each racetam has it's own unique beautiful qualities. The saturation is very psychedelic and pleasing to the eye. Colors aren't necessarily a lot brighter or distorted, but they just seem to pop.

I ended up stopping taking the racetams mainly because I've started to notice some strange side effects where I feel a weird tingling sensation and a light headed feeling at times. I'm not sure if it was from the racetams or some of the other supplement's i had been taking but i decided to cut out everything. I've come to the realization that even though I'd get more done I really wasn't more motivated to do the things i really needed to. After having the lightheaded feeling I had a realization that maybe someday when I'm 60 I'll look back and think maybe i didn't need to take anything, maybe I just should have ate better and exercised.
