Hello traders,

I am looking for someone who can grow along with me on my day-trading futures career. I would prefer a single individual that is just as determined to succeed in trading futures as I am, but if this turns into a small group then so be it. We would have to interview each other for a good fit. In that respect, here is some info about myself as well as requirements that I look for.

I have about 6 months of actual trading experience. Before that I traded in sim for about a year. My interest in day-trading specifically goes back about 5 years when I started to read up on the topic. I use market profile to trade the MES. I am beyond determined to make a career out of day-trading. By trade I am a electrician/plumbing contractor. In my entire life I have not placed a bet in any casino or gambling website, so gamblers need not apply.

I am sure most of you know that others are able to see your defects much sooner then you yourself become aware. This is the number one reason for this partnership. I respond very well to harsh/sobering criticism and you should as well. It is also important that applicants trade some type of futures contract intraday(preferably MES/ES/MNQ/NQ for their obvious similarities). Also a requirement would be a willingness to share trades and experiences daily.

As a beginner trader, I have many shortcomings and I believe that having a partner to share these mistakes with will improve accountability and help each other grow.

Please DM me if interested and we can start the ad hoc interview process.

Thank you

Also please feel free to share your similar requests for accountability partners here. I realize that not everyone is a perfect fit but that does not mean there isn't another with similar interests

Since you seem open to advice, I'll give you some:

1. First, don't quit your day job until you have a few years of consistent profitability part time.

2. Second, whatever amount you think you need you trade full time, multiply that by 5x or 10x. That is what you will want to have as cushion.

3. Keep a separate account for living expenses, and take money from that, not your trading account. Psychologically it is a killer to lose money trading in a week or a month, and realize you also have to drain account to pay living expenses.

1,2 and 3 all come from my personal experience.

4. The lure of day trading is strong, but realize that top quality plumbers and electricians are forgotten gold in the world today. The ones I know who are top of class never have to worry about earning a very good income. As a day trader, you will constantly be wondering if profits will dry up.

Good Luck!

I did that kind of job and I can assure, that day trading is more effortless than those jobs for many reasons, at least for me+ you don't have that huge upside potential for the income in those jobs, very soon you'll hit your max and that's it. Never saw a plumber who earns 400k net income and more per typical year, like some traders on this forum.
With rest, agree.

As for the question, nobody will teach you trading, it's impossible, you need to sit and just trade (real-account), in the process you'll figure out what works for you.
The only thing you can do is to pay for live-trading rooms, you will learn a lot but that won't help, you will lose money anyway and will fight (who knows for how many years) for your 1% chance to be profitable, so yeah it is much better to become a plumber .

As a day trader I never worry about profits drying up? Why would I be worried about this? I make my own edges and they change over time and i adapt. Yes it is always a challenge and never guaranteed but it is not a situation of worrying about profits drying up.

If you own a plumbing company, which many plumbers eventually do, sky's the limit.

Where are the traders on this forum making $400K net income per year?

Maybe hiding, but I will say I've tried to reach out to anyone here who I thought might be at that level, because I'm always wanting to learn more. Most of them withered under a few questions.

You'd be amazed at how many talk a great game, but do not actually even trade!

I know of one high performer here for sure (probably more I have not verified), and when he talks you can bet I listen!

As always money makes money.

I think that they just have a big capital let's say 2 mio+ and 20% on top of that is not that out-of-this-world performance.

But, for those people who have 2mio of free money, I don't think that trading is a way to go.
They can put it in some hedge fund, etc...

In my opinion, the purpose of trading is to break the cycle of poverty and not to live like a rat in a cage.

AGREED!

I wish there were more traders here with a $2 million account!
