Don't trade drunk. My extensive research and testing on these two topics has shown at best you can hope to be a break even trader. This result is most likely due to the facts that I put in a concerted effort into anything I pursue, like trading, in conjunction with my almost super-human ability to consume alcohol that has made me a very high functioning alcoholic. You might think this is a joke, or sad and or funny, but the fact is if you are not yet a profitable trader, there is a good chance that you too have a habit that you don't relate to trading that is not only holding your trading back, but you can most likely improve your trading outcomes by removing bad habits in your daily life.

It worked for me. When I couldn't stand continually losing trades because I couldn't control my trading behavior I decided to stop drinking. It wasn't hard either. I had it in my mind that trading was a priority, so I talked my doctor into proscribing me Antabuse. I talked with my girlfriend into making sure that I took it every morning, which she was only too happy to do so, and immediately my trading performance improved. I don't think that it was just because I was sober either. What was really striking was that where one bad habit had died, new good trading habits emerged. There are all sorts of behaviors that besides drinking that could hold someone back from being a better trader. When I hit my next plateau I plan on losing that extra 20 pounds and will stop using tobacco.

If it worked for me, and there's a good chance that it could work others as well.

Day trading, so easy a caveman could do it.
