If you want to increase your exposure to buy and hold stocks but want to keep money in your trading account then just buy and hold some ES futures and treat them as an investment rather than a trade. (That's what I do)

I should have been more specific that the rest of the money in my trading account isn't for daytrading but systematic position trading with an average trade duration around 1-2 weeks.

I trade with 2% to 20% of my networth. It's a sliding scale based on how well I'm doing. If I'm winning, I allow myself to have more access to my networth. When I lose 2 days in a row, I am forced to trade small and scrape by and claw my way back (it sucks, but it's the best way to snap a losing streak!).

Several months of bills set aside. It's a must.
