Importer not working

Using @petrmacs importer results-import.zip in post #702 with Journal 4.5
https://futures.io/psychology-money-management/4884-trading-metrics-journals-record-keeping-71.html

Cannot import NinjaTrader data into existing journal.

If new csv data is appended to existing journal, lots of Excel errors are generated, corrupting the journal.
If importer creates a new file then:
1. Migrating new into old does not work.
2. Migrating old into new does not work.

The instructions in post #702 suggests to make a new file and import. Does that mean make a new file and migrate using the button in the overview tab? Or is there another way to Import data into the journal?

Any help would be much appreciated.
Can the importer source code be posted?

i havnt used this in a long time so im not really of any help. i know @vvhg has been missing in action for awhile and im not sure why yet.

with all the cloud stuff out it would be cool to have a google drive or the free version of MS office in the cloud version done up. then there will be no more version updates from MS office to worry about. plus it will be free and everyone has access to it. not sure of the excel smiths around anymore.

dont believe anything you hear and only half of what you see

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Excellent Job

Very long read but well worth it, thanks to all. And a special to @vvhq, all I can say is WOW. This is more HIGH tech than I can comprehend, it will be a learning experience. Also thanks to @petrmac for the importer. Just starting SIM trading so no trades to input in, but looking forward to using it.

Changing the round trip commission

TDA reduced my ES commission today. When I round trip commission in "Instrument List" sheet, commission on all past trades are changed. How do I enter a new commission schedule in the excel spreadsheet without effecting the past trades?

Hello,
maybe someone know how to do something like this in the journal (printable basic information about the trade and screenshot of the trade)?
Like here: trading-journal-spreadsheet.com/wp-content/gallery/default/tradesummary.jpg
Any ideas?
Thanks
Alex

Recording Keeping with a Good Dose of Psychology

Greatly appreciate the work that was done by those in this thread...in Journal 4.5...and to tangibly return the favour I have quickly built a file on the concepts in J4.5 but with a good dose of psychology trading...(mainly because this is where I personally make all my errors...). The following summary is only for my last 4 trades so ignore the stats...but the summary does outline the variables I have added to those started in J4.5...(thanks again to the group for the idea of followed rules and not followed rules)...anyway for what it is worth here is the screen shot...hope it helps someone like this thread has helped me...Cheers BlueRoo

Importer source codes

Hello,

haven't been around for some time, so sorry for not answering messages and such. I have created a github project for the source code of the importer, if anyone has the appetite to change it himself.
The address of the project is: https://github.com/petrmac/NTResultsImport
Should be set up as public project so feel free to change or contribute to your liking. In case you have any issues accessing it, please let me know.

Since time constrained, I will not have much time to fix it myslef, so I can't promise it will be mainatained going forward. I might be able to fix the current issues and port it to work with the latest 4.5 version.

Cheers

Petr
